Good's Candies-The Original — Local services in Pendleton

EDIT - 2023 After the sale and physical move of this company, we will no longer be doing business with them. I ordered online to pick up in what is supposed to be their main store, and 3 weeks later (also 3 weeks after they charged my credit card) They were still not available to be picked up. My call was met with a sort of confused person who didn't seem to know about my order, and she finally said my order would be shipped to the store by the following week. I called to make sure before driving 40 miles, and again found the same confusion about what my order was. Finally, she said it was there. I drove to the store, and the candy was there, but it is NOT the same. All of the candy is made now in automated candy molds, not hand dipped, and it is now made in another state and shipped in. The company my family has dealt with for 70 yrs is gone, and so is the family tradition. Also, she tried th charge me ($239 again) because they didn't bother to mark it paid (4 weeks prior) except in a small box in the carbon copy order sheet. I won't be back. PREVIOUS REVIEW - My family has come to expect a box of chocolate covered cherries as a Christmas present as a tradition started by my father in the late 30's or early 40's. Since Good's opened north of Kennard, those gifts have come from Good's I took over the tradition when my dad passed away, and have only missed a couple of years since then (last Christmas being one of those.) My wife and I will be married 41 years in November, She was a 2nd grade teacher and we received a couple of boxes of Good Chocolates for Christmas, I started a business in 1984 and have ordered candy from Goods every year since then. I try to get over and get Anniversary candy and Valentines Candy for my wife every year. The chocolates are great and even though I am retired I still order several boxes for associates and former secretaries who tell me it would not be Christmas without them.

Since writing what was a 5 star review I had a very disappointing Christmas 2022. The service is very good but the candy assortments and quality changed. I was disappointed with the texture of the crème fillings, the quality of the chocolate had too much bite, and the assortment left out several favorites. Ordered 3 1/2# chocolates the weight on the ups box was 1.6# I thought 1/2# meant 8ozs at least it did when I went to school so the weight shoukd have been 1.8# I got cheated 2oz of candy which i paid for...nothing like cheating your customers I just checked and 1# = 16 oz not what you stated so the last time I went to school that box should have weighted 1lb 8oz....boy you sure have changed since I stated going to your store I was 10 yrs old I am now 85 but I think the math...
