Donegal Importers — Local services in Philadelphia

I place a $50 order on January 2 of 2013 and have still not received my hat. My Brother, who also posted a review here, placed an order separate from mine 2 weeks later, and finally received it after several months of hounding the owner and filing a complaint with the BBB. We were told that they lost inventory during Hurricane Sandy, but their website home page explicitly states, "Our store and our inventory was not touched and is ok." When I respectfully posted to their Facebook page, inquiring about my order, the owner responded that it was processing, however he never followed through. He also revoked my ability to post on the Facebook page.

Nearly 4 months later, I still have not received my order.

If my experience—or my brother's—is any indication of how they do business, I definitely do not recommend...

This is my second purchase from Donegal Importers and I couldn't be more pleased. Last year I purchased a beautiful cape by Hourihan. This year I purchased a gorgeous brown herringbone John Branigan shawl with cowl collar. I had seen the piece I wanted at the Irish Festival in Smithville, but when I went back the next day to purchase it, the festival had closed due to weather. I found Donegal Importers on-line and sent an e-mail asking if he would be so kind as to post pictures so that I could make my choice. I ordered a Newsboy cap (Boardwalk Empire cap) from Donegal Importers in mid to late Jan of 2013. The cap was a gift for my father's 62nd birthday. It's almost March and I haven't received the hat. What I have received is a few emails from John who keeps promising that my hat will be shipped out. I've had no response email/phone in the last 8 days despite several attempts and no sign of the hat anywhere. It's now Feb 27th.
