Every city we visit, we always find a ghost tour to go on because they’re usually fun. This was the worst one we have ever been on! The guide, Callum, raced ahead of the group to get to each stop, forcing the older tourists and those with small children to rush to keep up. He did not engage at all - absolutely no talking or the usual “getting to know you” chitchat guides do while moving the group along. One man tried to get him to say something by asking a question, but he just replied that he would answer it when we got to the next stop. His delivery when he stopped to tell us something, was without expression - as if he were taking a turn reading in class. My family and I were SO disappointed in the whole experience. Though I actually felt embarrassed for him at the end when he said he accepts tips and no one moved. It was so awkward. Finally one woman took pity and stepped forward with a tip for him. When I called the company to tell them about the experience and that it definitely wasn’t fair that we paid $24 a ticket for what we received, her response was, “Oh well. It’s just one of those things where you’re disappointed with what you got. We don’t issue refunds.” She also stated Callum has received positive feedback from many others on his tour. I guarantee that is an outright lie. There wasn’t a happy person on our tour at the end. I strongly encourage everyone to avoid this tour and try one of the others in town. If you do decide to go with this company, do yourself a favor and request anyone other...
Read moreDon't recommend! I just came from this ghost tour in Philadelphia. I am very disappointed with the tour! I arrived at the signers garden before tour time as instructed. Everyone was standing around. Nobody addressed me or checked me in. The line was divided in half and each went with a different guide.
I am visually impaired and it is more difficult for me at nite or in rain. I had brought a flashlight with me. I am able to follow the group at my personal pace. I have never had problem using the flashlight on any other tours. I shine in down on the ground so I can see where I'm walking. At the first place I was attempting to place the lite in my pocket. The guide, Fred, matter of factly and in an annoyed tone, called me out in front of the whole ground,"could you please shut the lite off when we aren't walking!"
I was not shining it at anyone or near anyone. I felt uncomfortable using it after that. I have fallen twice in past on walking tours, once requiring x-rays, a tetanus shot and brace! Which is why i brought the unintrusive flashlight! He didn't keep track of the group when crossing streets or off curbs! There was a man on the tour that kept looking out for me as we crossed etc. The tour was 90 minutes and we spent most of the time walking. We went to about only a handful of places. We finished at city tavern nowhere near where we began. Fortunately I have been here from CT before and found my way back. I think the tour was very disorganized and not...
Read moreMy husband and I went on the ghost tour in Lancaster, PA. We have never done anything like this. We were very unimpressed. Kind of hard to do a ghost tour in the daylight. And our tour guide was very dull and bland. He hardly made eye contact, mostly looking down or around, he yawned the whole time like he was bored and while he was wearing a “theatrical” robe it was open and he was wearing shorts. It was very loud and he continued to talk through the noise and we could only hear about a third of what he was saying. Needless to say we were not impressed and didn’t feel like it was worth the money or...
