Street parking. Nice enough space. Prices are high for accessories, and okay for cigars. However, that is where it ends. I went in during a trip to Philly for my birthday. The two staff members did not seem very interested in my presence. No tour of the store was offered. No inquiry about what kind of cigars I like, have smoked, or was looking for that day. I mentioned other things that warranted follow-up, but nothing was said. Mind you, the only other person shopping was my wife, who was the only person assisting me in finding something to purchase. After I selected and purchased a few items, I honestly expected one of the two workers to offer to light one of the cigars for me, as a lounge is at the back of the space. Nope. Read moreI have been a mail order customer on and off for over 25 years. The quality of their iconic brand, Ashton, has declined significantly. I have lost count of how many times over the last few years I have tossed a stick due to a bad burn. Either terribly uneven or burns a drill hole down the middle. What really "burns" me, is when you submit an unflattering review of a purchase, they don't post it. Clearly, they only post positive reviews so not to tarnish their Ashton brand. This is dishonest and disingenuous. When I asked them directly about this practice, I was ignored. With that said, I haven't purchased form here in over a year and will not return. Read moreI recently ordered cigars from Holt’s. I live in a couple of different states, so I use a couple different addresses. When I ordered I messed up the delivery address. I combined the address and the wrong zip code. Obviously my error. UPS, naturally confused, returned the order to Holt’s.
The tracking said it was being returned. So I called Holt’s customer service. At first they were confused also. But, being the customer oriented organization that they are, said; “not to worry, we will reship and get them to you tomorrow”. I apologize, I did not note the representative’s name that I talked to. She gets 10 stars, on a 1-5 star rating.
After that conversation, they called me back and kindly and without judgement, explained that after further analysis, they discovered the address error. Yep, I’m embarrassed, but their approach was non accusatory and they went out of the way to cover...
