*edit after reading the owner’s reply* Making an assumption, based on your world experience, that something is “widely recognized” and therefore you have no liability to notate an allergy warning is ignorant and dangerous. This was not a case of someone going to a bakery (where nut allergens are likely to be present) and failing to ask about cross contamination. This is not someone who’s lactose intolerant eating pizza and being confused that it contains dairy. This is nuts being used in a pizza shop. The two are generally not commonly associated. We always notify the server when we patronize a restaurant that notates nuts on their menu, so in this case there didn’t seem to be a need to do such, given there was zero indication of nuts in this establishment. This was the point of my review in the first place- We never would have patronized the establishment if we knew nuts would be present/cross contaminated. A customer should not have to wait until they sit down at your restaurant to realize they cannot eat there. And FYI- we do carry an epi-pen. You still have to go to see a doctor for follow up after the use of this medication. It’s not something you do to avoid a hospital trip. It’s concerning that instead of taking this feedback and stating you’ll work to include nut allergen warnings on your menus, you’ve chosen to stand firm in that you have no fault. I would hope that you don’t put this onus on your servers, because people also make mistakes. If we had told her about the allergy and she simply forgot that “basil pesto” =nuts, now it’s on her and that’s not fair either. It’s such an easy solution to just state it on the menu and avoid any potential issues altogether. But I digress. Original Review: I’ve emailed and direct messaged on Instagram to no avail, so I’m posting a warning to not eat here if you have a nut allergy of any kind: this restaurant uses nuts in their kitchen and does not disclose it anywhere on their menus. My husband had an allergic reaction which put him in the hospital after the restaurant failed to disclose use of nuts in their recipes, or any nut allergen warning at all for that matter. I have never been to a restaurant that does not notate when an item may contain or is made with nuts. We ordered 4 different pizzas and only after his reaction began, and asking the waitress if anything we ordered was contaminated with nuts, did we learn that the basil pesto here is made with pine nuts. This is unfortunately not common knowledge as my husband is extremely vigilant about not consuming nuts or anything cross-contaminated. We have never needed to google ingredient lists as most restaurants have warnings for common allergies. This is an extreme health hazard and could have been deadly. You need to adjust your menu to include allergy warnings if items contain common allergens. I’d also advise you to train your wait staff to ask if anyone has allergies before taking orders (this is common practice at most restaurants we’ve been to). This was an easily avoidable, costly mistake. We now have an emergency hospital bill to deal with. If you are unwilling to notate when items contain nuts, and/or if you cross contaminate in your kitchen, you need to have an overarching allergy warning to warn affected guests to not patronize your establishment. Your current menu has one broad statement on the bottom which reads: “Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you are pregnant or have a medical condition”. There was no indication that nuts are used in your kitchen and certainly no indication they’re on your pizzas. You even go so far as to notate when items are vegetarian, but no nut warning? Extremely concerning, and the lack of response to my email expressing these concerns is shameful. You could have killed someone with your negligence. I wish we never stepped foot into your establishment. We’re out the money for the dinner, AND an unnecessary, easily avoidable ER visit.

EDIT: They offered a free round of drinks to make up for the inconvenience which we beyond grateful for ! Will always be a returning customer !! I always look forward to any chance I get to visit Bar1010. Whether it's a spontaneous stop while exploring the city, a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or a special occasion like a birthday, the food and drinks never disappoint. I'm especially fond of their espresso martini, though I do miss the option to add mocha shavings on top! Last night, we celebrated my fiancé’s birthday with a group of six and were eager to try their famous cheese martini. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes into our dinner, we were told they had run out of espresso, with no clear indication of when it would be restocked. Despite checking multiple times over the few hours we were there, we received the same uncertain response each time. This isn't the first time we've encountered this issue, and it's disheartening, especially when the espresso martini is the main reason we come. It’s disappointing to bring new guests and not be able to share the full experience we’ve come to love.

I tried to be nice and let them know privately, but no one bothered to return my email so i decided to write a review. This restaurant needs new management.

My boyfriend and i had dinner there a few weeks ago and upon entering we immediately knew it was understaffed. To have one server working the whole floor and also act as host seemed unfair, but we were patient and understood this wasn’t Dante’s fault. The guy making the pizzas was heard telling Dante that he needed to be better about greeting customers and seating them, he said this a few times, rather rudely. The poor guy was trying his best! Not to mention this is in front of the whole restaurant. The bartender eventually started helping the server out and this seemed to help a bit. Then the pizza making guy really made us angry. We heard him tell Dante not to take any more orders and that he was taking a 10 min break. It was 8 pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was full at this point. He then proceeded to yell at Dante (again loud enough for the whole place to hear) about not putting in more orders. This seemed so unprofessional and terribly managed. Take your break at 9 when it’s less busy or don’t seat anyone if you’re too busy or make sure you’re staffed better- but this whole series of events was mind blowing. We later found out that it was someone’s last shift and she left early and pizza guy is the kitchen manager but the whole experience left us feeling sorry for Dante and we will probably...

If you’re looking for a cute neighborhood spot Bar1010 Is the place to go. With its chic ambiance cozy booths and dim lighting. I ordered the “Strawberry Dove” cocktail and the “Spicy Roni” pizza. I was elated that they were able to accommodate my requests as I’m currently fasting so I’m not drinking liquor nor eating meat. Needless to say the cocktail was still perfectly crafted and tasted great. The spicy roni was packed with heat , the crust was perfectly crisp, and the honey was the perfect touch with its smoky sweetness. This was a perfect solo date night. I’d like to come back and try more of the menu when im done fasting. My only concern was with my server. He seemed like a basic polite server. However once other patrons came into establishment I noticed his demeanor and service changed. There were 3 tables that came in after me. All non POC patrons, he was attentive, asked if they wanted tap, distilled or sparking water. Meanwhile he just gave me tap water and didn’t even ask. I stayed for a bit after my service just to observe and make sure It wasn’t like that. Maybe he might’ve been nervous as I know it’s a soft opening. Unfortunately , that wasn’t the case. As a Black woman it’s disappointing to feel uncomfortable or to experience prejudice especially in 2023. I expect to receive the same experience as anyone else. My money is the same. So whilst the food and drinks were 10/10. That behavior is...
