I used to love this place when staffs were friendly. I went back few months ago and I felt unwelcomed. I decided to give them another try today. Nobody said hi to me this time either, but I heard them saying hi to other ppl behind me. Then I heard the cashier being friendly and said thank you to the guy in front of me when checking out. I looked at them trying to make eye contacts but 3 workers were talking and none looked at me but I know one of them saw me because she went to grab a bag for my items without looking at me at all. I said hi and she didn't say anything back nor looked at me still. She told me the total price in mono tone and had me reach over to tap without looking at me again. she said "sign here" in an unwelcoming tone as well. I purposely waited for her to say thank you to me but she did not, even though I heard her being super friendly to the person in front of me. The whole visit in the store no one asked how i was doing or if needed any help but they asked everyone around me from time to time. They are rude and racist. They were not welcoming towards me the last time I went. Never going back ever again. Don't even waste your money here when they don't care about minorities or a simple thank you/hi :)...
Read moreVery Bad Store Policy! I bought a candle holder for my wife for Christmas, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. When she unwrapped it, on Christmas Day, two of the glass pieces were broken and she got a splinter from the unfinished candle holder. I took the drive to return it on Dec 30 (5 days after Christmas) and they told me store policy was 14 days for returns and would not give me a credit on my credit card, only a store credit. My wife never gets in to the city, so a store credit was useless. Everyone knows holiday items should be at least the store policy for returns AFTER Christmas, unless the policy was made by Ebenezer Scrooge. P.S. I think the review made on Jan 27, 2008 must have been made by the owners friend, as I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone buying from this store because of the...
Read moreOpen house is adorable and full of great Philly kitch and other great finds. It's located in the heart of center city's Midtown visit which makes it mostly easy to access (as long as you're not driving and need to park...but that's more a problem with Philly than the store).
First, not a grocery store like listed on Google. Second, you can get almost anything from here that you might need for your home-- it's like a boutique crate and barrel for your kitchen and detailed decor. Last, they have plenty of Philly-centric gifts and cards. The only drawback is the price for most things. It's pretty expensive, so expect to drop some money for something like a plate that says "I...
