Iām not one to leave a review, but this situation has me so upset that I feel like I have to let others know. Iāll start off by saying that when I went in for my consultation the staff, and Dr. Miller were amazing! I was really looking forward yo my appointment with Dr. Miller. After my consult, I scheduled an appointment and was told what the cost would be WITHOUT insurance and that I would get a better idea of the final cost INCLUDING insurance coverage two weeks prior to my appointment. In the meantime, my insurance company sent me a letter breaking down what was covered, and how much was covered. They told me how much would be due in total for the procedures that I was having done.
Two weeks before my appointment, I called the office to confirm that the number the insurance company gave me, matches the number they would be charging. When I called they told me they didnāt have that information yet, and to call back next week (one week before my appointment). I called 4 days before my appointment because I still had not heard from them. I spoke to Lisa who told me that my insurance isnāt covering anything at all, and that I would be responsible for everything out of pocket. This is confusing to me because I have paperwork from my insurance company breaking down what they would be covering. After the conversation with Lisa, I called my insurance company back to see what the mix up was, and they said that I do have coverage and they even sent a letter to the office to confirm that.
Lisa said that she would call my insurance company and see what they could do. She called me back a few minutes later and said that there is really nothing much to do, than to either pay in full or reschedule the appointment because they would have to resubmit the claim.
If this was done two week prior, like they said it would be.. this would have been avoided. It seems to me that they let the ball drop and just wanted me to pay out of picked instead of dealing with the insurance company.
Like I said, Dr. Miller an his staff on Walnut Street are great, but the billing dept let the ball drop and I will not be scheduling my...

After reviewing my planās EOB (Explanation of Benefits), I realised that I overpaid by $500+. Some providers may secure payment upfront/prior to claims processing, as the case here. But given that insurance paid and I am owed a refund, I expected the provider to issue a reimbursement check without requiring me to ask (as all of my other providers have done so).
And no, mailing a statement indicating overpayment without the actual check does not suffice. You placed the responsibility on the patient to seek funds that rightfully belong to me. It took two calls (both initiated by me) to get to the bottom of things (and my check) due to office staffās sharing of conflicting information and the runaround.
Additionally, Iād like to note. At the time of service, I asked why the amount due was greater than my treatment estimate. Per office staff, Billing ārounded up.ā This isnāt a grocery checkout line; you did not have my consent to charge a few extra cents to donate to some cause. They adjusted this amount, and I let it slide and left a favorable first review based solely on my positive experience. I think I am quite fair. However, I now feel uneasy about your practice.
You lost my trust.
This one needs a 0 star option. Wish I had the chance to comment on the doctor. I was referred to this place by a reputed Doctor and am sure the dentists are great. My experience however was only with the receptionists/front desk. They were rude and unprofessional. My company has commercial insurance and most providers in Penn have to call to verify eligibility. This was successfully done by Drexel Med and 1818 Market dentists in the last few months. The ladies at this office however didn't even try. Here's what happened: They claimed to call the number on my insurance card and that they could not get through. I called the insurance company and they assured me that no providers had called since August (this is Oct) The last call was from my dentists office (1818 Market Dentists) to verify both my medical and dental information. I called the insurance company twice in a span of 45 mins and asked they confirmed both times that this office had not reached out to them.
They continued to tell me that it may be out of network and that my insurance plan probably won't cover it. When I said that the plan covers out of network, the lady 'Morgan' made a rude face/gesture. I had another experience with her and her manner is extremely rude to both me and other patients.
The other lady then took over and repeated the same story. I will be taking my business elsewhere. This wasted an hour and a half of my work day and I cannot afford to pay for this...
