My experience with Advanced Dentistry was pretty terrible from start to finish. The week before my appointment, they called me four separate times to confirm and ask questions about my appointment, including the last time asking rather insistently for me to come earlier (at 9A instead of 9:30A). When I said I can't, my childcare doesn't start until 9AM, the receptionist's response was, "Alright so can you hurry and get here by 9:10?" Huh?
At the office things were worse. No one at the front desk smiles or welcomes you - whatever, but not a great first impression. They were annoyed with me for not having yet filled out paperwork that they had sent 15 minutes prior to the appointment. When the hygienist took me back, she first couldn't sign into the computer for 10 minutes and then couldn't figure out how to do the X-rays. She abruptly left partway through without saying anything. Eventually another hygienist came to finish the X-rays (the only friendly person I encountered through the whole visit - he was great). After another 15 minutes, Dr. B finally came in and without much greeting or fanfare, proceeded to try to sell me Invisalign. I was then ushered out to meet with the other business owner to discuss the "treatment plan" (i.e., paying for Invisalign).
All to say - THERE'S NO CLEANING! And they don't tell you this! (He said, "We do if people ask..." who in their right mind would assume that this is something that needs to be clarified?) I was stunned and asked why I had spent all this time and money to come for a first visit where they don't do a cleaning. He said because they don't know what type of cleaning they're going to need to do, whether it will be a "deep clean" or a regular clean, so it isn't worth it for the hygienists to block out time in their schedules to do this for new patients.
As an adult I've had to move a number of times so I've been to probably 6-8 different dentists in my life. I've never encountered a) a dentist that operates this way or b) this level of disorganization in a dental practice. So much unprofessionalism, so much sitting around with time wasted and no one communicating to you. I was there for over an hour and did not get a cleaning - I was told I would have to schedule a follow-up to do that. Unbelievable. Zero chance I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the Advanced Dentistry of Center City for the first time yesterday after putting off going to the dentist for way too long. I needed to find a place to become established as a new patient, especially because I was overdue for getting exams and cleanings. I ended up being in extreme need of a deep cleaning, plus cavities to be filled, and the misalignment of my teeth were causing much more major issues than I anticipated. I felt very embarrassed for how long I had not gone to the dentist and how much work I needed on my teeth, but everyone in the office was incredibly kind (and patient!), and Dr. Batra assured me that we would be able to have my teeth properly treated before anything could get worse down the line. The full treatment plan that was recommended to me and how much it would cost were all explained to me, and I was asked what work I wanted done. I was not forced into anything, and everyone made me feel comfortable. I know I was a bit of a difficult patient during some of the procedures (like trying to relax and not breathe through my mouth was hard for me, and then I couldn't relax my tongue during the cavity fillings), but all the staff and Dr. Batra worked as swiftly as they could. One thing I noticed was that all the staff worked well as a team and really communicated with each other. The fact that I had so much work that needed to be done and it ALL was able to get done in the one appointment was incredibly impressive. The office is clean, everyone is professional, and I'm truly happy I decided...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have moved across the country many times and am very diligent about my regular dentist visits. I have seen probably over ten different dentists in my lifetime. Never have I had a more professional, caring, genuine dentist than Dr. Batra. I have just recently started going to her and she cleaned my teeth told me her concerns and asked what I wanted for my smile. She gave me the solutions with absolutely no pressure and let me decide what I wanted to do. I decided to get veneers because I felt a instant trust with her. When fitting my veneers she found the slightest imperfection that I would have never noticed and she replaced it and reordered from the lab. She is so very humble and honest and truly cares about her patients and their smiles. She takes pride in what she does and it shows throughout her staff who are also so kind and professional. The office is very clean and Covid compliant and in this world of uncertainty Dr. Batra creates a space of comfort and trust, which I never thought I would feel in a dentists office. Thank you Dr. Batra you are truly the best dentist I...
