I had an appointment with Dr. Roberts to have a (quote "old-fashioned") bonded retainer reglued after one side came unglued. A technician initially looked at it and decided Dr. Roberts might want to do it himself. She also asked if I wanted to keep my teeth as they were, to which I responded "yes", as I went through expanders and braces many many years ago. Once he came over and looked over my teeth, then the retainer, he proceeded to point out all of the flaws in my bite and teeth so that I could be convinced into buying invisalign. Upon convincing him that I was not interested in having more orthodontic work done, he suggested completely removing the retainer because "the teeth are sufficiently crooked so there is nothing to retain". I said perhaps, then I could use the removable retainer I still have. To which he scoffed and again tried to pitch the invisalign and tell me again how old fashioned my current retainers are. Seeing as my initial "no" was not enough of a reason for him to stop selling it, I told him I am a student, living off of a student wage and the $1500 is not within financial reason.
I eventually convince him to just re-glue the bonded retainer, which had to be completely removed first-as expected. After grinding the old glue off Dr. Roberts said he had to readjust it to sit flush with my teeth. After 10+ minutes of readjusting he says "funny, it was just in there but it's too long now". More readjusting... and it finally gets glued back in. The retainer is surely not doing any (constructive) retaining now as it has been completely bent out of shape and only makes contact with ONE tooth other than the 2 spots where it is glued.
At this point I wish the any of the following things would have occurred: 1: Dr. Roberts recognizes the botched job and tells me he simply cannot reglue it as it is so bent. At which point I'd revert to my removable retainer and have a new one made at my regular orthodontist when I'm able to go back home. 2: Dr. Roberts recognizes the botched job and offers to fix it properly, rather than gluing a crooked piece of metal in my mouth to get me out the door, seeing as I was not about to be a long-term customer.
To bring things full circle, as Dr. Roberts is walking away, he comments to I'll be out of school soon enough... presumably to get my invisalign, of course.
If you are looking to have long-term orthodontic work done, perhaps this place may suit you. If you need a quick fix for something orthodontic related, (as other reviews have also indicated) this is not the place to go as it doesn't fit with their vision to change everyone's teeth who walks through the door.
I plan to fly home to have the job fixed-which evidently I should have done in the first place.
(Two stars for having a clean, aesthetically appealing office and nice...
Read moreI am a 60 years of age woman, I have been getting treated by Dr. Robert since January of 2021, when I was 57 years of age. I went to Dr. Roberts to have some top teeth straightened out, he told me that he can take care of it for me, he also told me that he can close the space at the bottom where I had two teeth missing so that it can become a space for one tooth.I said okay, I trusted that he would do good. I wore trays on the top and bottom of my mouth from February 2021 until January of 2023, when I was given a tray to to wear at night on my top teeth for one year, none on the bottom, and return in January of 2024. Doing this year while wearing the tray every night, the right side of my mouth begin paining me. I have complained to my dentist on several occasions, this last time my dentist examined my teeth thoroughly, told me that my top teeth are out to far causing problems with my bite and damaging my bottom front teeth. When I smile you can only see my top teeth. In the past when I noticed my top teeth were coming out too far, Dr. Roberts told me my teeth were fine. I trusted him. Three years and the teeth that I originally went for are still the same. And now other teeth are being damaged from my overbite being out further than when I started seeing Dr. Roberts. After thousands of dollars and almost three years later I have more issues than when I started. Now I'm in the process of spending more money somewhere else to resolve the damage he caused and get the work done that I first went for. He did not have my best interest at heart, I paid him in full only to be made a fool of. It's not good to go to someone, pay them for help, trust them, only to get let down as if I never mattered. Dr. Roberts did not have my best interest at heart. It's like after he got paid, he did whatever when he knew exactly what I needed. Dr. Roberts appear to be nice and concerned at first and then the non caring him shows up, putting me in an...
