Recently visited this shop in search of a simple dress for my birthday, service dog in tow. Upon entering the store, there is a very distinct layout: clothing up front, small gifts in the middle, and a chocolate shop in back. As I was just looking for a dress, I stayed at the front of the shop, where two racks displayed clothing. Although he was tethered by a leash, I was holding my dog in one arm, and perusing the display with my other. Eventually, his weight became too heavy, so I placed him on my right side(closest to the door) and told him to sit. He immediately sat at my right foot (he is a licensed and trained service animal), and I continued to explore the dress options.
Almost immediately, a saleswoman approached and told me that because they had a kitchen, they don’t allow loose dogs in their store, and asked me to pick him up. My dog is still seated at my foot, and his leash is securely in my hand - HOW is he considered “loose” ?? Keep in mind, the kitchen is at the back of the store, and I’m standing no more than 10 ft from the front door. Nonetheless, I pick up my dog and continue to make selections. I narrow it down to a few dresses, and ask a (different) saleswoman for a fitting room to try them on. She tells me they don’t have one, and I can’t try everything on at home. Now, that stunned me, because I don’t know a single store that sells clothes that doesn’t have a changing room to try said clothes on.
At this point, I’m miffed and a part of me thinks they’re denying access to a fitting room because of my dog, but I let it go because I live close by. I narrow it down to a couple dresses and leave.
Once I arrived home, I tried both on and realized the quality of the dresses was subpar. The hem on one was uneven, and on the other, the buttonholes were fraying so much that when you button or unbutton them, the loose threads catch around the button. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag.
I cannot speak on the quality of the jewelry or chocolates they sell. Based on the quality of their service alone, I would not recommend this place to any friends or...
Read moreWhat a wonderful concept! From jewelry, hats, and purses to nail polish and even chocolate, Verde's got it all. There's even a confectionery kitchen in the back of the store where you can watch the chocolates (as well as some desserts for a few of the neighboring restaurants owned by the same two owners) being made. The chocolate company that calls Verde its home is Marcie Blaine Artisanal Chocolates, and you can tell how incredibly innovative these chocolates are not only by the looks of them, but by tasting them. From hand-crafted chocolate truffles to creative varieties of chocolate bark (and so much more), whether you favor something more simple (like peanut butter and pretzel) or something more adventurous (like bacon or ancho chile), you are sure to find something to suit your sweet tooth. Selections change periodically so be sure to stop in as the seasons change to see if there’s anything new. Occasionally they will offer their salted caramel budino pops for a limited time each year, and those are absolutely delicious. Great place to go for last minute...
Read morePurchased a 36 dollar necklace from this shop during pride weekend and also bought two more- it immediately tarnished (not sure about the other ones yet, I’m a bit scared to wear them). I didn’t get it wet or anything like that I take great care of my jewelry- I googled lens searched an image of the necklace and found so many similar ones right from aliexpress… I don’t know where they’re sourcing their jewelry from but for a necklace of that price I would expect it to be a little bit nicer and not immediately tarnish- it sucks because it’s a really cute necklace- the shop is really nice and has a great selection of items I’m just really upset about this necklace because I love it and bought it during an important...
