0 ethics and customer service. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE - AWFUL experience with membership policies. There is no transparency from the management team regarding policies which makes it EXTREMELY HARD TO CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP. Comes off as a money-hungry and SCAM-y business unfortunately. Membership fees have been deducted from my account 2 months in a row - Iâve been trying to cancel since March. First the people I spoke to did not have an answer whether I could cancel my membership and took 2 days to get ahold of the manager - Suzie. After explaining my situation to Suzie in hope of some support/guidance in cancelling my membership, I was not told the fine print ONCE AGAIN that or given a clear answer regarding cancellation options. They say itâs a 30- day cancellation notice & a 2 month commitment for memberships - both of which Iâve done twice now. Hence, they make it VERY DIFFICULT to cancel a membership or give any kind of support in the process. The other girls are super sweet but donât know much about memberships as when I first joined in February 2024, I was not told of the 30-day cancellation or given the âfirst month half offâ offer going on at the time that my friend was told about literally two days later when she got a membership. Suzie on the other hand is hard to get hold off and quite frankly no help. I had confirmed with her multiple times last month that that would be the last payment from me - over text, on call and in person and she said something different every time, making me believe that if I downgrade to a cheaper plan now (as cancellation was not an option now due to the 30-day notice, that would be my last payment. Today, when my membership was wrongly renewed AGAIN, she said that THIS would be my last payment but I should be paying for this month (May) as well as June. Nothing seems to make sense with their policies or the way the explain them (everyone does it a little differently, twisting their words on how it could get them more $$). For a subscription fitness business like this, membership cancellation being a huge problem is unfortunate. I WILL NOT be going to YogaSix Rittenhouse again and neither will any of my friends - yes five of my friends did the 3/$26 classes through my referral and one of them got a membership - which they will NOT BE RENEWING as well. CLEARLY A BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT THEM (THEIR CUSTOMERS :) ) OR THEIR OWN PURPOSE. Trying to cancel a membership here/talking with Suzie has caused me more stress than the classes helped relieve! :) I will be reaching out to overall YogaSix management regarding this incident at the Rittenhouse location. ONCE AGAIN - DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE PAYING MONTH-OVER-MONTH AFTER ALREADY CANCELLING THE MEMBERSHIP! Thereâs a bunch of other Yoga studios in the center city that are amazing - do a bit more research. Do not recommend this...
Read moreThe classes were misleadingly described; signed up for a slow flow class with the understanding it would focus on meditative breathwork only to end up doing fast hot yoga to dance music (nowhere did it state the room would be hot). It felt more like a gym than a yoga studio, and when we asked for a refund given that we were only able to participate in half the class the owner was extremely condescending and rude, saying we didnât understand their brand. We may not understand the YogaSix brand (and wonât be returning regardless) but at least we know how to treat people.
EDIT: They also love to say âlocally owned and operated YogaSix Rittenhouse studioâ instead of what this actually is: a corporate franchise of the same publicly traded company that owns the Rumble and StretchLab brands.
What saved this from a one-star was the instructor recommending Maha Yoga to us. It is just as convenient (only a few blocks from YogaSix itself), a better deal (the most basic membership includes an additional class at the same $99-price point as Y6), and is ACTUALLY an independent yoga studio that puts action behind the values Y6 professes without the corporate issues (Maha includes a sliding pay scale for income-insecure people, something I doubt Y6 has ever...
Read moreI went with my sister for the first time to Yoga Six in Rittenhouse and I throughly enjoyed all aspects of my workout. Upon entering Y6 I was greeted and welcomed with open arms. I did the normal check in process that maybe took about 10 seconds, signed the waiver, and got myself prepared for my workout. My sister and I did a 60 minute hot yoga class, our instructor played great music that just fit the vibe of the studio and class and although it was HOT (it was supposed to be!) I didn't feel uncomfortable. I had space between my mat and others, and felt comfortable going at my own pace and also pushing myself when I felt like i wanted a challenge. My instructor was FABULOUS, and so encouraging before, and during the lesson, and I was able to really feel my body move the way I wanted it to. The whole atmosphere just felt so welcoming and inclusive of all abilities, which is something you don't see at most gyms, if I lived closer, I'd be there AT LEAST once at week!! To update: I've been steadily going to yoga6 at the Rittenhouse and collegeville locations. I have loved every single class i've taken, but especially...
