If you work at Dollywood as an entertainer, DO NOT LIVE AT IRH. Find some connections with people in your cast or on park in general. Hopefully after this year, theyāll stop recommending people to live at IRH. Sadly, itās most of our only options because this living situation is a housing monopoly for IRH. Unless you want to spend more than twice the money to live in a hotel.
Iāll start with the fact that when we moved in we were told that Entertainment only had 2 people to a room PER THEIR POLICY. Great news to hear as youāre moving in! I am more than halfway through my contract now (24 days left, 44 days completed) and yesterday they gave me 25 hours to pack up my stuff and consolidate to a new room. Ridiculous. They sent the email at 9:21pm and we had to be moved into our new room by 10pm the next day. I had to work 2:30-8 that day, so I had to wake up at 8am to pack and move stuff until work. Then I had to finish moving after work. When a friend of mine questioned Shyann, the assistant manager, who was working the front desk about it, she told him that he was lucky to be receiving an extra hourās notice because our lease says they only have to give us 24 hours. He called her petty for that and she THREATENED TO KICK HIM OUT. Just because your policy says you only have to give 24 hours, doesnāt mean that you have to strictly abide by it. I know good and well that people are not moving in the very second we left. They had no common courtesy or grace.
Their reasoning for why we needed to move was that they had incoming Dollywood residents⦠at the end of the christmas season⦠aka the off season is next. This is just speculation, but I donāt believe this. I think that IRH is hiding something else going on. Thatās why they needed up rapidly out of our rooms.
Since we were moving into someone elseās room, that meant we just had to take what they gave us. We got the two tops bunks. I am a plus size manā¦this top bunk is not going to work for me. Not to mention the structure of the bunk bed very easily shakes if you move too much on it. It takes me about 5 minutes to get up or down from my bed. This is a personal problem, but I believe is worth mentioning.
Also think itās worth mentioning that there are scuffs and spackle places on almost every wall. They give everything a half-hearted try.
Overall, an absolutely horrible experience and I cannot wait for it to be over. If Iām asked back to Dollywood, this will greatly impact my decision. Iād have to live here for a full year and sign a lease to come back for another season here. Dollywood itself is one of the best jobs I have ever had. The housing situation if youāre just here for one season thoughā¦is pitiful, disrespectful, and unprofessional.

Update to your response:
Thank you for your reply, though itās fascinating how quickly you jump to assumptions about eviction and illegal activitiesāespecially when none of that was mentioned in my review. It speaks volumes about how you view and treat your residents. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns about poor management and deplorable living conditions, you chose to deflect with baseless accusations. I stand by my review and sincerely hope future residents enjoy the āprison chicā experience you seem...
