TLDR: location is good. Room is alright but outdated. Staff is odd. Twice called us at 9 am for literally no reason and tried to get into our room before we even checked out. We are just guests not timeshare members. Probably won’t be back.

Got in late at night and overnight staff was very nice. Got us checked in pretty quick and we were able to get to sleep quickly. Location of the resort is very nice. Walking distance to the trolly and to the old mill so if you didn’t want to drive you really wouldn’t have to. Parking at the resort is free as well. You can get to pretty much anything in pigeon forge in less then 30 minutes depending on traffic. Our room itself was very dated, and bed was a little worse for wear. But having a kitchen and living area was really nice. As old as everything seemed it wasn’t all that bad. Odd part to us was that they “provided everything” but didn’t give you anything in the bathroom but one tiny bar of soap. We had to go the store to buy shampoo and things like that. Also housekeeping isn’t included during your stay so if you want new towels or sheets you have to walk to a certain room during open hours to get them yourself. Also the walls are THINN in this place. I could hear our upstairs neighbors sneeze and listen to whole conversations. During our stay on two separate days we received a phone call at 9 am. The phone is in the bedroom and SUPER loud. Woke both of us up. It’s vacation why do I need to be up at 9 am? Once’s was even on New Year’s Day. Both times were the front desk just asking weird questions or wanting to come “give us a gift” which was just there way of trying to get us to buy into the time shares. Explained were military and move too much, plus don’t have the money to do that, she didn’t seem to like that answer. Pretty much let herself into our room to talk to us about this too. The whole situation was just weird. On the last day, you have to do a bunch of “checkout” stuff like start the dishes, move sheets and empty your own trash which seems silly to me but we did it. We were getting ready to leave ( it was 930 and checkout is 11) and someone was knocking on our door trying to get in. I wasn’t able to get to the door quick enough and they left, we thought nothing of it till someone came back and literally unlocked our door??? We had the chain up so they quickly shut the door and left. All in all we left at 10:30 so it wasn’t even late and I’m very weirded out to know someone was just going to come into our space. Originally I think we would have came back because of the location and the kitchen in the rooms but after that I...

I struggled between giving 2 or 3 stars. Let me explain my frame of reference. We've been coming to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for 30 years and we've stayed in everything from motel rooms, to cabins, to condos, to swanky huge Log Homes with beautiful mountain views, fireplaces, and hot tubs over looking the city views.

This was an exchange with our time share with Wyndham through RCI. So when you consider the Wyndham condos here, these are at best a 3. They do get points for being VERY clean. But for a city with nothing BUT views, it's a parking lot reminiscent of apartments I lived in 30+ years ago.

There are two bedrooms with separate baths, but very basic, and only queen size beds. The full size kitchen is SMALL and very minimally stocked. There are grills and a few picnic areas throughout, but no views. Other resorts seemed stayed at compensated with landscaping, waterfalls, etc. There is none of that here. Absolutely no frills. The outdoor pool is still open at the end of September so that is good. It looks clean and well kept (in the middle of a parking lot, but fenced with a gazebo).

The location is good, too. In the middle of Pigeon Forge close to the new convention center, close to the Old Mill, accessible via back roads to Veterans Pkwy which allows you to bypass the heavy traffic through town.

So for these reasons, they get 3 stars instead of 2. Clean, good location, swimming pool still open. Hold out for a better exchange or spend the money in one if the hundreds perhaps thousands of cabins available here. This is high season so book ahead. I doubt we would stay here again unless it was...

As time-share owners at Oakmont for over 35 years, we have become disappointed in the upkeep, management, and thoughtless updates to the units. ||Side tables that prevent bi-fold closet doors from opening. Did they not measure when purchasing from a discount wholesaler?||The cheapest pleather furniture possible. Is there something cheaper than pleather? It looks homemade. Hospital waiting room furniture is more appealing. ||Inadequate WiFi for a substantial fee of $15. You can rent DVDs for $2. Really! I am serious—DVDs for $2. ||High maintenance fees for dilapidated property where you can not sell your week for much value. ||The pool furniture is broken, the pool light does not work, and the list is long, but maintenance personnel love riding around in their golf carts. ||If your child s**ts in the pool, you owe them $500. I mean, it is not intentional. ||It is no longer enjoyable to vacation at Oakmont. We only stay a couple of days to see our 30-plus-year friends. Our bodies can not take the horrible mattresses for longer than two or three nights. ||So…||The funds are there, but there is no effort. ||You receive a sheet asking for a review, in 30+ years, not one item we have added has been addressed. ||$15 wifi with the capability of “checking email and surfing the web” and “not streaming or gaming.”||The televisions are likely 32” or smaller. ||Again, disappointing. If you are not an owner, many new properties have better locations. ||I recommend choosing...

It was okay..... They make you pay $5.00 to use there wifi which is only good for 7 days and they have control which websites you can go visit. The kitchen silverware was dirty, I pulled a knife out of the block and it was dirty. The window in my children's room did not close properly and it was 12 degrees outside at night and snowing so the room stayed cold all the time. The doors to the units could use an update, the locks on the door could easily be picked and somebody could walk-in. They do not have a elevator, so my handicapped parents had to walk up the stairs to the second floor. They only had one handicapped parking place. They would not accommodate my parents to put them on the first floor like they had asked for months in advanced. They told my parents it was first come first served. The place could use updates, like handicapped bathroom and shower stalls. I can say this place is not handicapped friendly and is not up to date on the ADA regulations. Its good for a weekend get away. FYI Oakmont Resort, you need to look into the ADA regulations, its not hard for somebody to sue you for not being up to date on accommodating handicapped people. You could be sued for not being up to date.

We checked in after hours and the maintenance person got us checked in very quickly. We had a nice stay at the Oakmont Resort. It was a small and cozy place. We really enjoyed our time there and the amenities it had. Wi-Fi was available for a $15 charge for the week. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom closet had a laundry basket, broom, mop, vacuum, iron and anything we might need during our stay. They had a schedule they provided for the week and offered local entertainment in-house at the resort just about everyday. On Monday they had several local businesses stop by the clubhouse who offered a description of their services and offered a nice discount if we chose to partake. We even got a little demo of their talents from comedy, short stories and even a musical performance!

Enjoyed everything about this little place. It's not luxury but it's comfortable, clean, and staffed with friendly folks. The location is hard to beat, especially if you want to be close to the older iteration of Pigeon Forge. Nice outdoor fire pit and playground for kids in a quaint little courtyard. Only slight complaint is the weak Wi-Fi and cellular connection in the lower rooms. But honestly I didn't miss networking much in the last days of 2020 anyway. And if you don't mind sitting outside your connection will be fine. Would definitely return here.
