Talitas Restaurant — Restaurant in Pigeon Forge

My wife and I came to pigeon forge for vacation from north Augusta sc for the week. Sadly we didn’t find talitas till 2 days before we had to leave. It was so good we eat their twice in the same day and took extra back to our room for a Midnight snack. we have eaten Mexican/Honduran food all over America and this is by far the best. The carne asada and pork carnitas are tender and delicious. But the brisket is by far the best meat offers as tacos or quesadillas. The verde salsa is mild but very good. The red salsa is also great but could prolly cut through a cast iron pan. If you choose to eat the red salsa make sure you have some horchata that is made in house to cut the heat. I can not say this enough you need to try this place don’t let the hole in the wall vibe keep you from coming here.

Edit June 10th 2023 2 years later and this restaurant is still some of the best Mexican/Honduran food I have ever day. The owner and staff are some of the most friendly and helpful people I have ever met. Again I can not tell you how much you need to try...

I wish it were possible to give 4.8 stars in a review. I realize giving it 4 is lower than its average, but 5 says no deficiencies and that is not true.

Quiet, small place, next to a mexican grocery. Went there twice, ordered different dishes every time. The chicken fajitas and grilled chicken were very flavorful, but the chicken was a tad on the tough side. The Baleadas especiales was very good. The chicken with green bananas was also good, but needs some more sauce and flavoring.

The owner/server is very friendly, and genuinely interested in his food. Many of the dishes are Honduran, which is unusual.

Sadly, the parking lot is smelly...
