Shushu Card Shop — Local services in Pinellas Park

chin was extremely ignorant, Let me save you the time, money, and frustration: ShuShu is the worst Pokémon card shop I’ve dealt with in years.

I visited on May 29, 2025, looking for a Charizard VMAX (Darkness Ablaze #020/189). They had one listed as “Near Mint” for $75, which is laughably overpriced — at the time, the card was going for $55–60 max on every reputable platform (TCGPlayer, eBay, etc.).

I asked about the markup and got hit with attitude from the staff. No explanation, just “That’s the price — take it or leave it.” Against my better judgment, I bought it, assuming maybe the condition would justify the price.

Wrong.

Got home, pulled it out of the sleeve, and it was straight-up damaged. Scratches on the front, edge whitening, and a dinged corner. Not Near Mint. Not even Lightly Played. This was a Moderately Played card at best.

I brought it back the next day (May 30) and was told flat-out that all sales are final. No refund, no exchange, not even store credit. They wouldn’t even look at the card closely — just repeated their “policy” like robots.

Amazing In-Person Experience with Chinh!

I recently visited Shush Card Shop in person, and I have to say it was an outstanding experience! The store had an incredible selection of both Japanese and English Pokémon cards, including many rare and hard-to-find items. What truly made the experience special, though, was meeting the owner, Chinh.

Chinh is incredibly knowledgeable about Pokémon cards and collectibles. He took the time to answer all my questions, offer great recommendations, and share insights about specific sets I was interested in. His passion for the hobby is evident, and it really shows in the way he curates the shop’s selection.

The store itself was organized and easy to navigate, making it a pleasure to browse. Whether you’re looking for high-end cards or just starting your collection, Shush Card Shop has something for everyone.

The checkout process was smooth, and I left with a fantastic haul of cards, all in perfect condition. The prices were also fair for the quality of the products.

Shushu is definitely one of my favorite card shops in the area, and they have a great variety of cards and product in stock at all times. Its a nice atmosphere, and overall an A+ shopping experience.

My only problem with this store is the owner’s stubbornness as well as disrespect towards some of his customers. Whether that be in person, or online (which it is mostly), he is very argumentative, short, impatient and overall unkind. I understand that he has a business to run, a family to provide for, and two stores to run, however It’s noticeable that his kindest moments (as mentioned in other reviews) only come when he is making a sale, ie. staying late with someone, explaining the history of a valuable card, etc. Whereas when someone inquires about the inflated prices of some products (which can be ridiculous) he is short, backhanded, and egotistical. I believe that as a store owner you should be consistent, no matter the customer, and what they ask.

I highly respect the owner and employees of these stores for running a great business, and I recommend this store for anyone’s TCG needs. I hope that this review is found as constructive, and wish everyone good for...
