One of my top three places to visit in the Strip District and the only place I step in to every single time I shop in the Strip. I consistently find high quality, unique, and interesting products here at fair prices with friendly staff. Original wooden floorboards and full shelves, an ‘olive bar’ (that makes other grocery store olive bars look like they heard about Stamooli’s but couldn’t deliver the same excellent variety/quality), and a cheese counter with a crazy-sized aged provolone hanging from the ceiling - it is an amazing store to experience and a great example of what makes the Strip District so special. They’ve been around for years - my family growing up always had their stuffed grape leaves and spinach pies for lunch after a Strip shopping trip. Well worth stepping inside and spending some time looking around at their amazing variety.
Absolutely suggest stopping in and enjoying the experience of a Strip District original - especially recommend asking the staff if you have questions and trying something you haven’t...
Read moreDecently sized Middle Eastern and Greek shop that has lots of great products. It's thought to find some of their more rare products, such as Greek custard pies and unique Greek candies, bars, cheeses, etc. I also saw a few different teas, juices, and honey. While I was tempted to buy more, I just got the chocolate halva. After trying it, I only thought it was okay. Somewhat hard corners and not the best flavor. The pastries that were homemade, such as the walnut cake, seemed great. I've heard great things about them and I'd like to try them out. However, the imported pastries I'm not too sure about. Still, there are lots of great products at this store. Selection is fairly good and it's a decent way to try unique products. It's not as good as made to order Greek or Middle Eastern pastries, but these products are still high quality. Okay prices and virtually never...
Read moreI visited this beautiful city to forget the turmoil in my life during Christmas week with a friend. We did our shopping and went to the register to pay. I emptied my basket and put it back. When I stepped back to the register the cashier very nastily asked if i had my own bag. She then proceeded to berate me in front of my friend and many other customers behind us. ( none of which had a bag) Very dramatically telling me I aint from Pittsburgh are ya? I bet yo bag is in yo car aint it? Nope I live an hour away and visit your city often. I will not return to this store again. She had no idea if i had 20 bags I had already used in my car. Be kind people, you have no idea what people are going through in life. Im spending my hard earned money in your store and deserve to be...
