Kelsey's Needle Krafts — Local services in Placerville

Great little store for Cross-stitching supplies! Right off Hwy 50, I always stop by to see what they have on my way to Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area.

There are a lot of hand dyed embroidery yarns and threads, fabrics, patterns, and notions specific to X-stitch. A lot of local Placerville gals meet there to work on projects at their big work table and chat.

Tired of time consuming 'big' projects, I am always looking for new small postcard size (4"-6") projects kits to keep in my travel bag or purse (they make great gifts when done, and aren't hard to get done!), but that is the one thing they are lacking, other than tiny beaded ornament-sized kits, which are difficult for me to work 'on the go' in a lap. So...

I stopped to shop on a road trip from San Jose to Lake Tahoe. The shop was closed. Thinking it might be closed (maybe for lunch), I went to lunch. On my return, still closed. I called the store number and left a message which was returned the following day. The person assigned to work the day I was there was out due to illness. The 4 stars are for a previous first time visit. A wonderful selection of threads...

There is none like Kelsey's. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Great selection including charts, notions , cloths and fibers.

Extremely helpful in helping with colors. Important to me!

Needlepoint selection is great.
