I have had multiple issues with this clinic. I was set for a colonoscopy in June and was asked prior to my procedure if I wanted to take pills or liquid preparation. I selected pills, and when I picked up my prescription from my pharmacy, I received the liquid preparation. I attempted to contact the office for further instruction (as my instructions received only related to the pills) but could not get in touch with anyone. My procedure was the next day, so I followed the directions (to the letter, not wavering one bit) which accompanied the liquid bottles. My colonoscopy was cut short as the Dr. said my preparation was not sufficient and did not provide the Dr. with a clear enough view to be able to proceed. We agreed I would need more preparation time for the next attempted procedure. No big deal, right ā Iām sure it happens often as our bodies are all different. Following this, I then received a bill from the clinic for over $2,000, surprising me to say the least. When I contacted my insurance company, they let me know the procedure was coded as diagnostic instead of screening, and this was not covered. (The original procedure was to be 100% covered as a pre-screening tool.) I contacted the clinic next, who ā upon review of my file ā affirmed it was coded as diagnostic instead of screening. After multiple calls over 3 weeks, I was finally able to speak to the business office manager (Michelle) who now is telling me I may be on the hook for the costs because of how the Dr. transcribed the procedure, and the fact that the procedure was cut short because of visibility ā even though I followed the directions from the prescription I was provided, was not told of any costs associated with this, and was not allowed to approve any potential costs. I believe this location is closing soon as the Dr. (Sarah Boostram) is leaving, but even so ā if you can avoid this one, do so. This seems very fishy to me, at best, because how many people even bother to push back on a bill once received, whereas they just pay it instead. Pathetic! As well, their logic in sending me any sort of bill or coding this as ādiagnosticā is extremely flawed. I entered the colonoscopy āSCREENINGā as I understood it, and it was still a screening when the procedure ended. There was never a moment when it became diagnostic, not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLONG BUT WORTH IT!! LESS THAN 0 STARS would be appropriate. Yes people nice but like some have said billing part is much to be desired. Going to my surgery day and paying them $1319 which I was told would be all my portion since I had already met everything was not so true. I received bill of about $6300 a month later. Requested itemized bill from billing and got nothing. I called my insurance after several attempts in trying to get answer from billing and was told that billing told them it was a coding problem and they would correct. I still kept getting billed the $6300 and contacted billing multiple times to get itemized bill and answers. No luck but they sure kept calling me to collect money. I would explain every time the situation and were multiple calls and emails. They also had the notes in my account. I even sent billing my explanation of benefits from my insurance and say they would send to me. Called my insurance again and again and they would call billing now with no luck. Finally were told that they owed me money. Well I got nothing but calls to collect now $2300 dollars. I was confused how did They come up with that amount. Again my problem was not paying them, but what was I being charged for since my insurance already paid everything and did not deny them payment. After several attempts now 1 year later, they finally send me a bill of $1264. On their itemized bill it showed completely different than my EOB from insurance. Still no clarification. All feels like a fraud. But guess what!!!!?? I was sent to collection for non payment and found out my insurance cannot do anything once sent there. And of course facility and billing will refuse to talk to you. HOW MANY PEOPLE have to go through this. Simple communication and putting yourself I. The persons shoes would have helped. By the way they billed insurance $50, 000+ for a foot lapiplasty. People pay attention...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have nothing bad to say about Dr. Gadol himself, great man and a good doctor and services, the issue I have is with Billing. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done under self pay (no insurance) I was quoted a price from Dr. Gadol's office for him and I was told to talk to Baylor Surgicare of Plano for their price, I did that and paid both prices. a few weeks after the procedure I received a bill from Baylor Surgicare with no explaination of what the charges were for, called and the billing department also could not tell me what the charges were for, they said they would find out it would likely take a week and call me back, 3 weeks later did not receive a call but got another bill, called again and they still had no information of what they charges were for. Today I received another bill from a lab company for testing from the procedure as well, no one from Dr. Gadol's office or the Baylor Surgicare gave him any indication their would be additional charges after already paying over 5000.00 and now having to pay an additional 1100.00 for something I was never alerted would happen, I AM VERY UPSET AT EVERYONE INVOLVED AND AM WRITING THIS REVIEW IN HOPES OF TRYING TO STOP ANYONE ELSE IN MY SITUATION FROM GOING THROUGH THIS IN THE FUTURE, AT LEAST GO INTO EVERYTHING KNOWING THAT YOU WILL LIKELY (HIGHLY LIKELY BECAUSE THEY CAN) GET A BILL FOR ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS THAN YOU WERE QUOTED AFTER THE PROCEDURE IS DONE. BEWARE. It is important to note that Dr. Gadol is also a partner in Baylor Surgicare of Plano also so I do hold his office more responsible for this problem because he should know this could happen and warn his patients before doing...
