I was quoted a price for repairing my kid's Switch Lite. I really didn't want to send it off to Nintendo because I didn't want to wait any longer than necessary and not have any updates from them. I had the peace of mind knowing I could talk to someone locally about the issue I had and he was knowledgeable and experienced with the type of repair I needed (charging port). When it was ready, the quoted price still remained the same. I'm giving him 5 stars for the following reasons;
Local - don't need to mail off and be worried about not hearing about the repair during the process.
Quick Turnaround - I was given a certain window for the repair and it was completed before the anticipated date.
Up front estimate for repair - I was quoted a certain price for the repair and it was what I paid, despite any hiccups that may have happened during the process.
Fair Pricing - before I made the decision, I did look at used / refurbished Switch Lite prices. The price for repair was cheaper than buying another one and dealing with the trouble to set up a new profile on the next item.
Communication - I first called and didn't have to talk to a bot/automated system. I spoke with a real person. He answered my questions right away and didn't beat around the bush. I brought my item in and was informed what the problem might have been and was given a price up front. I was sent a text when the item was ready for pickup. The quoted price was honored at retrieving the repaired item. A function check was performed in my presence. A copy of the work order with the quoted price in writing was given to me at drop off.
I could not have asked for a better experience. All my expectations were covered. I get some people will never be happy and will find a reason to leave a negative review. I give credit where it's due. 5 stars for the reasons above and although I hope I won't have to bring him any more work, Gadget Guy will be my first choice if I have to or if anyone is in need of electronics repair of...
Read moreThis guy was an actual lifesaver for my PS5. Long story short, during a storm lightning struck my college dorm building and caused a power surge, and the only thing that suffered was of course my PS5. Could not get the console to turn on and show any signs of life after the power surge, and spent about a month looking up tutorials and walking into stores to fix my console, but everywhere I looked I got the same response: “The power supply is most likely done for…motherboard is going to be fried…won’t ever turn on again…can’t fix it…blah blah blah.” It sucked because it SEEMED as if everyone had a valid reason as to why my PS5 was a goner and I was getting ready to bite the dust and sell my PS5 for parts. However, ran into this “Gadget Guy” and called him, and he said he could get it fixed as soon as I told him my situation. Not to say I did not believe in him but everyone else’s response beforehand definitely didn’t give me much hope, but a week later after dropping off my PS5 and he got it working like nothing happened! Turns out it had nothing to do with the power supply and whatever else everyone was talking about before him, and he explained how he fixed it in a way that sounded like simple solution to what seemed like a hopeless situation thanks to his experience and expertise.
Moral of the story? Don’t give up on your devices if you haven’t...
Read moreI’m a little disappointed. I really wanted to speak highly of this service, but sadly was left with another issue than the one I came in with. The owner was really nice and got my item done in quick time. The only problem is that I brought my Nintendo lite in due to a glitch LCD screen and it seems like when they replaced the screen I was given a used/ scratched up screen and there was still an area that was not fixed. I’m not talking about just a minor scratch… the entire screen is full of scratches. I paid 100$ for the replacement thinking it’ll be like brand new but it isn’t. Sadly I didn’t even notice it, because it’s not mine, and I took it to get fixed for my cousin. She was the one to notice it and point it out to me. The only reason I even agreed to get it fixed is because upon evaluation he made it seem like it was no big deal to do.. I’m just very disappointed and feels like I wasted my money. As you can see from the before and after videos, it was dropped off with not a single scratch on the screen and we got it back with more than a few scratches. My cousin is not happy. Like sure we got majority of it fixed, but now left with another issue. After spending 100$ I could have just got her a new one lol. I don’t think I’d be able to safety say that I could return to get anymore assistance...
