I hate to say this but I used to love this shop. I have bought so much pokemon product from here, easily over 2g's, but I am not a fan of the price offered on cards. I know most card shops offer anywhere from 60-70% of the actual card value for your cards, but this shop seems to fall well below that cap. I took over $1,100 of pokemon duplicates to sell here, and got quoted around $540. I figured since they were my spare cards, that It was fine an just wrote it off as it being an okay deal. A few months later, I returned with a bigger set of cards valued at $3150, and asked the shop if they where willing to buy this, but since I was a regular here I asked for 70% value of the cards. The employee told me that they were about to close and if I would like I could leave the cards there and they would quote it the next day. I didn't give it much thought as I had dealt with the shop a bunch and agreed. At this point, the shop called me back the next day, and offered a ridiculousquote of $1300. When I questioned this, they stated the condition of the cards were rough. I found this strange as I have opened all of those cards from packs, and would always immediately sleeve them. (This excludes 4-5 cards). I then rejected the offer, and took my cards back the following day. I also want to note, the employee told me that they can only offer a certain percent of they cards worth, and the owner told him this is non negotiable even for a regular customer. Overall, this expiriance left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will no longer be dealing with this shop.
This is just my personal expiriance with the shop. I would still encourage others to visit and for your...
Read moreWhenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels. Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the “loser,” and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round. I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world. Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment. When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3×5 card reading, “Please use this M&M for breeding purposes.” This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of plain M&Ms. I consider this “grant money.” I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the True Champion. There can...
