Although I was skeptical of the exceptionally high reviews this location of BBQ Chicken had, I must say that it is the best location of the restaurant around.
After having been to the other Plano BBQ Chicken location on Coit and the Carrollton location before, this one is better in every way. From the decor to the the food, everything is a superior experience.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean, hip-looking, and comfortable. No dingy tables and building here; probably due to being so new. The dine-in experience is superb, with little every little detail nailed down. For example, you'll find little buckets on your table meant to throw the chicken wing bones in. Additionally, expect some great service in this atmosphere. The waiter we had was beyond fantastic; they provided top service down to the last detail. The drinks, food, and check were all brought out incredibly promptly without ever even needing to signal to them. Simultaneously, we never got bothered at all while we were busy eating. Basically, it was some immaculate awareness as a server.
As for the food, it was exceptional. Because the chicken here is fried to-order, the chicken wings are perfectly crispy, moist and hot. It's the perfect fried chicken; from the outside skin down to the juicy, tender interior. Texturally, it's flawless. Despite having a juicy interior, the wings have absolutely zero blood like some many other chicken wing restaurants. This is likely due to the cooking process that they use to fry the chicken (which can all be seen on the walls). We had the spicy Galbi flavor fried chicken wings. Although, it wasn't as spicy as the menu suggested it was, it was still flavor-packed; bearing a complex savory-sweet flavor. It's a lovely, evenly coated thick sauce around the wings. We got the large order, and despite the high looking prices, you get a hugely generous amount of food. 3 people could easily get full off a large order of wings. The rice and so-tteok so-tteok we got were some tasty sides to the main meal too. The so-tteok is like a kabob of lil-smoky sausages with fried tteokboki rice cakes slathered with a sweet-chili gochujang style sauce. In particular, the rice option here that's very unlikely to be found in other fried chicken joints is really nice. It's a lighter side to the meal that balances out the heavy sauced-up fried chicken wings while also being able to mop up the delicious leftover sauce from the wings.
All in all, expect a perfect atmosphere, service, and...
Read moreSo, I recently got sick from the spicy and rose bokke and my GF did too. I felt that since we didn't eat most of it after getting sick from it - I should take it back when possible in return for my money back, because I'm not wasting money on food that made me sick.
I arrived and told him the issue. He proceeds to tell me that "I sold over 6,000 wings and nobody told me they had food poison" and I told him well what if they don't know it was this place if they dined at multiple places prior that day. However, we had only eaten this place all day. He then was rude and threw the receipt and food away aggressively after telling me that "he couldn't give me back my money." I was more upset that he tried to tell me - a Chef, that I didn't get food poison from his food rather than having better customer service. His tone and body language was extremely condescending and rude and I used to go there often, but I'm going to spread the word to everyone and make sure this location gets shut down. Don't gaslight your customers when they're coming to you about a serious problem they experienced after consuming your product. He also told me there's no way I got food poison bc it takes 4 hours to get. He's a very uneducated man, because it actually starts anywhere between 30 minutes to weeks to get.
He gaslit me, refused to refund me back money for my food, and then wrote a $30 credit on a sticky note and stuck it behind the register."
I hope nobody else has that experience. This business isn't going to succeed with someone like...
Read moreIve been disappointed with other bbq chicken locations, but i believed this preston location was the best until today. It wasnt my first time ordering food from here, and other days were excellent. However, when i picked up the chicken today, soygarlic boneless chicken, it was too firm like a stone. I used to work as chef previously and i know exactly what this texture means; overcooked. Most of restaurants tends to keep their misorder for a while. And when they receive the order, the same one kitchen mistakenly cooked, they usually try to reheat. I believe this case was try to reheat by putting it back to frying pot. That resulted the firm texture and it was even hard for me to pick the chicken with plastic fork they provided. I understand you were little busy when i came to pick up my order, but this is about integrity. Dont just throw away your integrity to save ingredients that costs only few dollars. People routinely go back to the restaurant where they have good memories about either food quality or service. You guys just gave up one of them, and its literally telling your customer not to come back.
If you guys just want to assume that it is because of the time i traveled from restaurant to my home, i just want to let you know, i live in 6 miles radius. And i waited for your food, which means i was there before you have your chicken ready.
Meanwhile, the secret spicy chicken was good.
Anyways, i might not going to come back to your location for a while because of the disappointment...
