Dollar General — Local services in Platte City

This has to be one, if not the, worst Dollar General I have shopped at. It is extremely dirty, unorganized, and merchandise is rarely in stock. The customer service as well as the management is horrible. There is a huge turnover of emoloyees that are not properly trained, are far from friendly or welcoming, and there is always discrepancies with my receipt. Don't waste your time downloading the store app on your phone because you cannot open it from inside the store because you cannot get access to their WiFi or manage to get a connection with a 4G network so you cannot view your shopping list, coupons, or circulars. Which brings me back to the receipts...most of the time the amount of savings from the digital receipts do not get removed from your purchase and/or there is some excuse as to why they are not valid. After over an hour of shopping last time and getting ready to pay at the only register open, none of my coupons were valid and with no manager in sight for the employee to get help from, a mounting line if frusterated customers, I left everything and walked out as well as about 4 other people. Cold spring day, transportation issues left me with 45 minutes or so to go into my favorite store. Excited, I left my 2 back packs at the counter & began what I yjought would be an enjoyable relaxing moments I love Dollar General. As I browse to the store I guess I look like a shopping as as I was asked if I was looking for something in or just shopping I replied that I had been looking for weighted blankets, which they did not have, from that point on I was watched & followed constantly. I am wearing jeans, new but with a distressed look, & a hoodie It is just my day to clean up part of the highway.I do not know what it was that made them watch me and follow me however it was so uncomfortable and so embarrassing I left the store without purchasing anything,, after I have planned on spending about $100 I will never go back to this store as it was humiliating. I was very disappointed! The store was not cleanz clearance items were not marked as clearance. Christmas items were not marked as clearance. The bathroom was disgusting and filthy. The staff was arguing and one girl was upset at something and was slamming her register drawer after logging in with customers right there. A young man, also an employee, was also upset at something and was rude in front of customers. It was just very uncomfortable! I don't live in this city, but am staying here for a few weeks to take care of my sister who is sick. I frequent thie The Dollar General in the scity I live in is very helpful and respectful!
