I had a representative from Enevive come to my house this spring, "conducting research" and asking questions. He said he wanted to talk more about our water quality/potentially test it, so I allowed him to come back to give his presentation. He'd said that they give out amazon gift cards for listening to the presentation, but when he came back to give the presentation, he said that both my husband and I had to be present to qualify for the gift card. My husband wasn't interested, so he gave me the presentation without the gift card. The representative was very polite and nice.
I felt that the presentation was fear-mongering and contained some inaccurate information. The presentation stated that we have fluoridated water (meaning that fluoride is added to our water), which was essentially poisoning us. We have small levels of naturally occurring fluoride, but there is no added fluoride in our water in Orem (on the CDC website, it showed fluoride levels about 1/3 of the recommended amount in Orem). I wish that we did have added fluoride to our water. I have done extensive research on water fluoridation and have read many scientific articles on it, and it is so beneficial in the recommended doses! The CEO stated that he has actively advocated to get fluoride out of the water in Utah, which I feel is disappointing. The presentation did bring up a few points that I felt were valid, like pointing out the dangers of hexavalent chromium, and honestly, water purification could be better. However, the presentation felt skewed that if you didn't have some sort of filter, then you were going to have adverse affects from water pollutants, in order to sell you a water purification system. We are literally exposed to pollutants every day through water, food, air, etc., and I am personally more concerned about the terrible air quality in Utah than water pollutants.
I also felt the company was questionable in their claim to do "research." I have an undergraduate degree in physiology and a master of Public Health, and I did a lot of research throughout my 6 years of schooling. The reason the representative came to our house was because we had recently moved in. A representative also came to my sister's house shortly after she moved into our neighborhood. If that is the way the company is choosing their sample group, they will have biased data and results. I asked if anyone in the company had an advance science degree, and the salesman said they did not. I personally feel that you cannot have good research if you do not have proper training and education, and don't feel they are qualified to be a "research company."
In summary, Pros: this company had respectful, polite representatives. They probably have working water filter systems (I wouldn't know since I didn't buy one, but they seem to have other favorable reviews). The CEO says that they are passionate about helping inform people about their water. They also donate to non-profit organizations to help access clean water in third-world companies, which is nice.
Cons: I personally felt that this company claims to do research to get people to talk to them, so that they can sell water purification systems, which feels misleading to me. Also, the company provides fear mongering and inaccurate information in their presentations. I would love for fluoride to be added to Utah's water supply, and it is harmful to public health efforts to make false claims about the "dangers...
Read moreEnevive has been nothing but a positive experience for us. It started with a few simple water tests performed in our home and our curiosity peaked. Prior to our experience with Enevive we honestly didn’t know too much about our water besides the fact that we used a water softener. When we first moved in, Utah Water came out to us and convinced us we needed a softener. It was very much a sales transaction and the customer experience was mediocre. We essentially knew enough about hard water and figured a softener was a good investment. And that was that. Needless to say it was a door to door sale and we haven’t heard from them since. Enevive on the other hand educated us first about our water and then gave us an opportunity to learn about ways to improve our quality of water. It was eye opening to just learn about what’s in our water! This experience was an entire 360 in comparison to Utah Water, especially considering they didn’t force a sale on us and actually quoted us prices that are good for up to 1 year. They are definitely more research and education based and didn’t pressure us to buy any kind of product.
We ended up having a system installed to improve our water quality and this is probably one of the few investments we made that we didn’t immediately regret. Anytime we’ve have a door to door pitch and bought in, we’ve had some degree of regret and I can honestly say we have no regrets except why didn’t we know about this option sooner. Our water tastes, smells and feels completely different. The drinking water in our home is so clean and we’ve even noticed differences in our skin and hair from the change. It’s mind blowing what our quality of water was and is now.
One other thing I have to mention is our current and ongoing relationship with Enevive. Shortly after the installation they came out to retest our water and to ensure we didn’t have any current questions or concerns. As I mentioned previously, Utah Water only spent time with us pre-sale, installed and left. With Enevive we have worked directly with the Vice President and Founder throughout the entire process and they continue to be our primary contacts as necessary. You can tell that Enevive genuinely cares about water quality and is not out to solely make a profit. I know even if we had not purchased that Nick/VP and Trent/CEO would still gladly consult and discuss water quality because they are truly passionate about our water. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the customer service experience and education has...
Read moreWe had an AMAZING experience with Enevive from the beginning. Ashlin was the one who originally came to our door and did the initial testing of our water. She was very kind and informative with what she was testing and the levels of some of the impurities in our water. Not once did she make the meeting about products to be sold or pressure us into buying anything. As she went on with the information, we decided we would like a second meeting to be more informed about our water and what we are consuming. For our second meeting we had the pleasure of meeting Trent and Josh. They were both very informative, respectful, honest and straightforward. They listened to our concerns and answered all the questions we had, never making us feel naive. The amount of information they offered about the water we consume in our city was very interesting. Again not once did they push any sort of sale on us. As we went on about our meeting, my husband and I realized that we had made a very uneducated decision when we decided to buy a water softener with Utah Water. Not once did Utah Water try to go into any amount of detail as to how their product will help our water be better. They also never took to time to do something as simple as explain how the water softener is to be programmed or maintained. They were solely focused on making the sell. We decided we would like some information about the products that Enevive has to offer, again no pressure was put upon us and this was a self made decision. It was amazing to taste and even smell the difference in the water between one of Enevive’s products and the water “cleaned” by the Utah Water softener. Trent and Josh still never pressured us into buying anything, they were kind in giving us the information for the products and the pricing for the products, good for one year. It’s comforting to know that there are people out there like Ashlin, Trent and Josh that genuinely care and take the time to do the research and give the information to our communities on something so important to our health. I’m certain that what they do for our communities and the donations that Enevive makes to the communities in third world countries are beyond beneficial. We will happily recommend them to our family...
