XD Fit — Local services in Pleasant Grove

No one slammed Crossfit as much as I did. I could just about puke looking at everyone's posts on social media telling me how much better they were than me. I have heard of Crossfit for many years, but I never been brave enough to try it. The cult-like atmosphere at some of them was intimidating and just sickening. I was given a chance to try it and I will admit that I am slowly swallowing the Kool-Aid, and my pride. If you haven't heard, it is a hour long of butt-kicking exercise. It is pricier than the local Rec Center. But what do I get for my money? A small group trainer that shows you the movements, the proper form, and does it without judging or belittling. I would never be able to come up with the stuff that these trainers do. And they take all your crap when you moan about how hard it is, only to make it through the brief pain. Competition is a part of Crossfit to chart results, however, it is not in your face.The only competition is yourself here. For myself, as long as I can survive and do one more push-up than my wife, I am happy. At Crossfit XD the equipment is new and there is such a variety of things to do. You keep track of your stats through Wodify, which is available on your phone. Brad, Joe, Rowdy, and Michael make you feel as if you are just joining them during their workout. There is nothing quite like the CrossFit XD experience. This gym truly has it all: high quality equipment, experienced trainers, a great environment, class times that can fit into any schedule, and extremely agreeable prices. Being a part of XD is like being a part of a family where everyone works together and cheers each other on. The people you work out with become your teammates in a sense and you leave each day feeling empowered, successful and strong. The coaches are there to help you succeed. It is very apparent that your safety and success is their focus when you're there. They want you to get fitter and stronger each day. Your goals become their goals and they will do everything they can to get you where you want to be. I love the feeling of walking into XD and knowing that I am going to walk out a better, fitter, and happier person. I've walked into several CrossFit gyms in the valley, and worked out at a couple. From the moment I stepped into CrossFit XD I felt welcome, un-judged, comfortable, and excited to get my CrossFit on. They are also the best-equipped gym I've seen. I am a small guy, I'm now over 40, and over the past few years I let my strength decline while focusing too much on endurance. I don't lift heavy, I don't put up big numbers, I just show up and do my best, and there is zero judgment in the gym. My body is adjusting to lifts that I've never done before and I'm literally getting stronger every day. I couldn't be happier.
