I used to love the classic açaí bowls here. The açaí was refreshing with just a touch of sweetness and the bowls were full of fresh fruit for the perfect balance. I would get them once or twice a week. A couple months ago I got my usual and was surprised to find the açaí so sugary sweet and artificial tasting (all sugar and vanilla) that I figured someone new must have messed up the recipe. It was so sweet and fake tasting that it was mostly inedible to me and I threw everything away except the fruit on top (which was fortunately still plentiful). The experience put a pause on my regular visits but I was craving one last week so ordered a 24 oz classic açaí bowl. Unfortunately, the açaí was a repeat of the overly artificial sweet tasting mix from the last time but, to make it worse, the amount of fresh fruit included was laughable. In a 24 oz bowl (the large size) I was given 4 thin slices of banana, 4 thin slices of strawberry (which did not equal even one whole strawberry) and 6 blueberries. Yep, I counted. I don’t know if they just have inexperienced staff, changed their recipe or are just cutting corners to cut costs but NOPE, not for me anymore. I’ve been wanting to try this place even before they opened! Conveniently located 📌in the same plaza as my neighborhood Smith’s, and right next to the Smith’s gas station ⛽️. My very first smoothie I had to choose from the “Healthy Green” category because it was my breakfast for that morning! Heard so many good things about “Iron Strong”: fresh limes, spinach🥬, peach 🍑 juice, pineapples🍍, peaches 🍑, and mangoes 🥭. It really surprised me how good it was, especially with the line giving you a bit of a wake up 😳kick in the morning - this was a fantastic smoothie‼️We also had the chance to try “Ocean Breeze” which the kids really liked. The interior was pleasant, clean, inviting, and comfy. Customer service was quite pleasant - each person I dealt with had a smile on their face and had really perky tones and voices when they were telling me about their smoothies. The prices are a bit higher than I’d like to pay for a smoothie ($5.51 for a 16 ounce), but maybe it’s because I’m paying for quality...

Actually very tasty and love their bowls; came back for my second time this weekend and the cashier refused to take our order saying that they closed in 5 minutes but they actually closed in 12 minutes. I’ve worked fast food and I get not wanting to clean everything 2 minutes before close but cmon; don’t lie there was plenty of time to serve us. He was just a lazy teenager along with the two others on shift. Great thing Handel’s ice cream is open and workers are friendly and want our business. That was a 60$ order they turned away!

Edit: and before I get the excuse that there were staff shortages today; there were 3 employees inside just standing around talking around the counter arms folded not cleaning not doing anything.
