I’ve been a repeat customer at Gold Fever in the past, including purchasing a gold diamond necklace with my fiancé. During that transaction, we were quoted one price but charged another upon pick-up. While the difference was only $100, we didn’t bother to dispute it at the time, as we’re not the type to haggle over a small amount.
However, my recent experience with this jeweler was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. I dropped off a bracelet to be resized, and after three weeks of waiting with no communication from them, I called and went in to check on the status. Upon picking up the bracelet, I noticed that the gold that was removed during resizing was missing. Both the employee and I immediately noticed the error, and she was apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned. When his employer brought this up to Stew, the owner, his response was completely unbothered. Instead of offering a solution or showing any concern, he offered to take $2 off the price of the resizing.
I explained that this didn’t seem fair, especially considering the substantial amount of business we’ve given him over the years. I kindly suggested waiving the resizing fee entirely due to the inconvenience and the missing gold, which his employee agreed with and stated “ good for you” after speaking up. However, Stew continued to downplay the issue, claiming that the lost gold wasn’t worth much and that there was nothing I could do with the remaining gold. In the end, he offered a total of $5 off the price of the resizing.
This experience was incredibly frustrating and showed a complete lack of customer care or professionalism. After spending thousands of dollars here, I expected much better service and accountability. I won’t be returning, and I strongly urge others to think twice before doing business with this man. Enjoy...
Read moreI am not at all pleased with Stewart and the service. 7 years ago I bought a TAG watch for a little over $900. Not a good price but an okay price. All the last 7 years I've had it in to replace the battery three times replace the inner workings twice for $275 each time repair the stem because of Julie did not insert it correctly and there was water in the watch that they alleged blue dry and said it would be fine and one time to replace the crystal inside the hands within the watch. The worst news is I was told that although the watch is rated for 50 m that I cannot not only not you to watch in the ocean or pool but I cannot wear it to take a shower because for 4th of the shower will get in front of the mechanism and wet the inside mechanism I thought I paid $900 for watch that could be used in the water. But I was told that the watch is old and leaks. The watch is not old they did not take the time or knowledge to put in the o-ring so each time I had to pay for new inner workings and the last time just in July I got the watch back and the stem was not put in tightly and water got into the crystal and I was told I must have loosened the stem I said no that's why I got it back you people are too stupid or lazy to know how to put the watch together or too careless to put it or together correctly so I don't want to carry on but I got screwed big time and I will write as many reviews and as many places until Stuart satisfies my request and exchange it to watch for one that works and one that keeps out the water. Thank...
Read moreI ordered a Sterling silver, specialty ring online (first mistake). Wrong ring size (second mistake). Tried to have it resized by dealer... yup, strike 3. Then, out of desperation, I searched for a local jeweler to help me fix my one of a kind ring. Was told that Gold Fever was one of only a very few that could help. That's when good fortune came to me. I spoke to the owner (in business almost 40 years) and he assured me my ring could be resized and ready within 3 days (in time for Valentine's Day). Then the unbelievable happened... I went to the shop and not only was I able to get the ring taken care of, but I found a charm bracelet and was able to order four very specific charms to adorn it with. ALL to be ready by Wed the 14th (keeping in mind it was Monday night, the 12th). Sure enough, I received a confirmation call on the 13th! Now the truly amazing... I was tied up all day the 13th and was pressed to make it to the store by 6pm closing... THEY WAITED FOR ME! Not only that, the owner himself took care of me and explained how the ring was cut and sized DOWN from 9.5 to 8 with a laser... no visible seem. Oh, and did I mention, he was able to do it so the existing inscription wasn't ruined? And the total price for the resize, bracelet and charms was far less than I expected... I'll never buy jewelry anywhere else. Thank you Gold Fever for saving my Valentine's Day! (BTW, I read the one star reviews... obvious "ringers" for competitors and typical customers from...
