Me and my family ate at Amendment 21 tonight. We came not for the beer, but for the food. It was my first time here. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the food and quality thereof. I ordered the cowboy burger, which I requested medium rare. The chef cooked it spot on to what I asked for. It's rare to get the exact temperature you request nowadays, so I was impressed. Also, the bacon on the burger was cooked to utter perfection. Probably the crispiest bacon I have ever had! They know how to cook bacon properly here, that's for sure. The fries were also superbly cooked and had just the right amount of salt. The sweet potato fries were also delectable. I detected subtle notes of cinnamon coated on them. Delicious! The only complaint I have would be the service. It took quite a while for our waiter to come back for the check, so we were waiting with our empty plates for some time. Also, I would have liked our waiter to check in on us a bit more. A separate worker ended up completing our check transaction for us. However, I recognize that they may have been a bit short staffed. Our waiter seemed more preoccupied with the bar, which on some degree, I can understand. Nonetheless, me and my family left content and filled to the brim with satisfaction. I would definitely come here again. I'm eager to try more items on their...
Read moreThe only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the theming is great and it’s nice to see a cohesive theme in a restaurant nowadays. The food here is probably the worst food in Point. We ordered the chicken wings (bone in), a Caesar salad, and the pho bowl. Chicken wings were sawdust. They were probably the driest chicken I have ever had in my life. Included were potato chips that could haven’t been more burnt if they tried. No flavor and just awful.
The Caesar salad was okay, it’s hard to mess that up.
My pho bowl had grilled chicken in it and it looked great but, man, did it suck. First, it came out extremely hot. I don’t mind my food being hot, but this hot was ready to burn skin off. If I tried to eat this bowl when it came out, I would have fourth degree burns inside my mouth. It was borderline unsafe. It took 4 ice cubes from my water. to cool it down. The chicken…sawdust again. My teeth were bouncing off the chicken rather than chewing it.
I do not recommend this place and will not be coming back unless their change staff or ownership or something. This is a waste of space that could be something really special if they just could get their food right. It...
Read moreMonday, 08/04/25, was our first time eating here. Went to try the Happy Hour and the Monday Burger Specials.
Pros: No wait for a table, nice Pub atmosphere, free on street parking. Burgers were 2 for $25. with Fries, usual price is $19. each. Burgers were cooked as requested, well. No added fees if paying by card. Service was adequate.
Cons: You had to ask for the Happy Hour Menu, it was not simply provided with the regular menu. Bathrooms were very tight / small and not wheelchair or disabled accessible. To substitute a House or Caesar Salad instead of fries is an upcharge of $2.50 each. The Caesar Salad was fairly good. A little too much dressing. The Burgers were thick, char grilled and juicey. But a little fatty. Compared to some other local places in Pt. Pleasant Boro and Brick, the Burgers were not as good. The Margaritas were a bit overly tart. The mini clip board used to hold / present the check should be tossed as it was stained and dirty appearing, see pic.
Summary- Overall not a bad Bar / Grill. Personally, I would not order the Burgers again. And even with the special it was a bit...
