Maurices — Local services in Port Orange

I shopped at Maurice's today for the second time, my first time being last weekend.

My first experience was wonderful and I was able to find a few things on clearance that I really loved! Finding clothes is hard for me right now because I am pregnant and tall. I am over 5 months pregnant now but still barely showing with an actual "bump" instead I am just getting bigger in the midsection. None of my normal clothes look great right now and I have had a really hard time finding anything to wear that looks good. This store was recommended for me by my mother in law and I was very happy with what I purchased! They were having a clearance event and I actually found several comfy bigger pieces that were both long enough and comfortable with room to grow.

My second visit today was somehow even better than the first one. The staff all remembered me and one of them even remembered my name since we have the same one! They picked out several outfits for me to try on and had them waiting for me in the dressing room, which is a level of customer service that I have never received in any shop around here. They also offered some helpful opinions when I came out to show my husband what I had tried on. Their comments were very nice and encouraging. They felt genuine and not at all pushy or too "salesy." They helped me pick out things that I didn't even see throughout the store, both from the regular priced stock and from clearance which I appreciated. They also were able able to work a miracle: they found me some stretchy jeans that were long enough! They will probably fit me for another month or two, which I was over the moon with considering I've been living in dresses and leggings lately.

Overall my experiences here have been nothing short of wonderful and I have already recommended this shop to multiple friends. It is clean and well air conditioned and the entire staff is always so friendly and helpful. I am very excited and grateful to finally have some cute clothes in my wardrobe rotation again! One employee working (young blonde gal, 6pm on Wednesday 10/30/19) and no other customers in the store at the time of my visit. I was barely greeted between straightening racks/tables and was not spoken to again for the 10-15 minutes I was in the store. I tried on 12 shirts in the fitting room and was never checked on. I explored the store again after the fitting room and was never even acknowledged again. I even purposely started looking in the area the employee was in and she walked away. As someone who used to work for the company it’s sad to see such lack of “customer obsession” in this location. Even if I had found something I liked, I would’ve ordered online and not given this location my business. My first experience at Maurices was incredible. It was a birthday visit coordinated by my boyfriend and everyone at the store was so helpful providing outfits to try on and truly making my visit so special. The staff were very attentive and picked outfits that fit perfectly on me. For as many outfits as I was gifted the price was very reasonable and the clothing were of excellent quality. Best of all I feel incredible in my new clothes. I will be back...
