I was hesitant to leave a review, but after what happened, I feel it’s necessary.
Three days after getting my hair done at this salon, I developed ringworm on my neck and chest, which I strongly believe was due to poor sanitation at this location.
My appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM with a stylist named Claire. I arrived a bit early but was told they weren’t ready yet, so I said no problem and went home to eat. Shortly after, Claire called and asked if I could come back at 2:45 instead. I agreed—but when I returned, she was still not ready.
To be fair, the manager (I didn’t catch her name) checked in on me a few times, apologized for the delay, and said they’d offer me a discount for the inconvenience, which I appreciated.
Claire finally started my hair around 3:15. She apologized for the wait, and I told her it was fine—I was just there to get my hair done and move on. Before putting the black cape on me, she placed a small towel on my shoulders. However, it seemed dirty and thin, and it clearly didn’t do its job. As she applied the color, everything felt messy and unorganized. I tried to trust the process.
Once the color was on, she loosely placed a shower cap on top of my head and then said she needed to go on her lunch break. I said okay, even though she mentioned no one would be able to assist me while she was gone.
As soon as she left, hair dye started dripping down my face, neck, and even inside my shirt—despite the towel she had put there. It felt gross and unprofessional. I looked in the mirror and took a photo—I honestly looked like a mess. I got up and asked another staff member (who does facials, not hair) if she had a towel so I could clean up. She kindly helped me, and I really appreciated her support.
A few minutes later, someone from the front desk returned from lunch and offered me a bottle of water—something Claire had refused earlier, saying they didn’t have any, without even checking.
When Claire returned, I explained what had happened and told her I was really disappointed. She apologized again but started blaming the other staff, which was unfair. It was her responsibility to take care of me, and clearly, she didn’t.
This whole experience was unprofessional, unsanitary, and stressful. I will not be returning to this salon. It was honestly the worst salon experience...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this establishment. From make up, skin care, and hair services to my Ulta World Master Card, all great. I worked for Estee Lauder for 20 years so of course I always used their products. But I was never happy with how my skin looked. When I retired I had to stop using Lauder skin care products due to the expense. Ulta offers tons of choices for skin care in a very wide range of pricing. About a year ago I decided i no longer was happy with using just soap and water to wash and drug store face moisturizer. I spoke to an Ulta representative and explained what I was looking for. She guided me to four products that have totally turned my skin around. I have been using an Origins face wash, a serum for eye puffiness, eye moisturizer, and face primer/moisturizer by NYX. All super reasonably priced and extremely effective. The hair salon is awesome. It is expensive but definitely worth it. I have very, very curly hair and it can be difficult to find a stylist who know how to cut it. But I have always had good luck with the stylists at Ulta. You pay more for stylists with higher experience and skill but that is fine with me. I was just there last week and I decided to try a cut I have never had before. I really like it and have had many compliments on how it looks. My stylist even gave me her private phone number in case I wanted her to change anything about the cut. I haven’t needed to call her. I love my Ulta World Master Card because of all the points I earn that are redeemable for products and services. This past Christmas I was able to purchase gifts for 20 people for under $200 because I was able to redeem points towards the items.
I will not go anywhere else for my...
Read moreI’ve been here three times for my hair, the first 2 were with Amy and she’s great. Saved my hair after another salon messed it up. This time I had a different stylist whose name I don’t even know. I had her cut bangs (yes risky decision and I don’t hate the look on me) BUT she 1. Cut them so uneven that I’m mortified to go in public. I’m going to be wearing hats for the next 2 months. She did the face framing pieces just god awfully, I could feel as soon as she cut it that it wasn’t going to end up well. I have short “face framing” pieces on the sides of my head that’s aren’t even close to my face now. The right side looks great honestly. Beautiful face framing pieces. The left has a chop that I just don’t know if she didn’t notice or what but now I’m miserable. 2. She washed my hair, then styled my bags, round brushed them 4 inches off my head and hair sprayed them until they were solid stiff and then set me home with wet hair everywhere else with no conditioner or product or anything. I sobbed the entire drive home and then had to try and save my hair before class which ended up with me wearing a hat. The worst part is I think I could have really liked the style if it would have been done correctly or styled correctly. Now I’m left with a mess and embarrassed and going to have a miserable summer. So in conclusion, either don’t get bangs here...
