Dollar General — Local services in Port Saint Lucie

This DG store is 2 minutes from my house but If I need to go to Dollar General, I will drive 10 minutes out of the way to a different DG (or Family $ or $ tree) because that's how bad this one is. But it sure would be nice if the one next to my house wasn't a complete and total disaster.

The middle aged male "grunge-punk" manager ain't worth $6/hr and I'm not sure what half-way house they found him at but send him back, he's not ready for society yet. The old miserable lady with short white hair, glasses, and snotty attitude seems to get a rise out of making people wait at the register like it's the only thing she's ever been in control of her entire life. She makes people wait simply because "she can".

I've worked retail (management) at multiple retail stores and this particular DG needs a full cleansing of workers here, with the exception of a few younger kids who work there. They do the best they can given the situation they are put in due to incompetent management.

I will say, the store is organized and well kept, but it's likely because workers would much rather stock/organize shelves than deal with customers. Understandable, but not acceptable. I'd rather have a prompt check-out. Customers are priority over stocking shelves. And this is not just one visit, it's like this every single time.

My last visit there over the weekend put the nail in the coffin- significant line of people waiting in line while she's blatantly ignoring us for 5-10 minutes, and then once she finally got there she didn't get right to the customers, she went right to her phone to check her texts AND replied to them while people were STILL waiting in line, everyone clearly upset with the situation. I like dollar general but I avoid this one like the plague. Horrible experience every single time....

I go to Dollar general all the time cuz it's around the corner from me. First of all you get $5 off on $25 spent on Saturdays who doesn't want to save 20%. Eggs are a $1.65 a dozen and there's the largest large eggs in the area. Aldi sells a dozen large eggs for $1.09. but they're puny little eggs. And do you believe in sharing it's a dollar store very few things are a dollar I don't like that. Next they're part of the canceled culture so I don't like that either. But the employees are great in the store by me. One last thing I wish Dollar general would stop ordering so much stuff from China more than half the stuff in the store comes from China. I don't understand why stores incorporations in America buy stuff from a country that not only hates us but uses...

Cashier were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Customer service was outstanding!!!! I was there 12/20/16 at 8:45 pm and the 2 employees that were working went out of there way to help me find what I was looking for. You know how some people get when they work for a company and it is their job to provide customer service and they are so nasty!!?? Its those people who should be fired immediately! But then you get the kind of person who does their job well and with a smile. My only regret is NOT getting the employees names. So Kudos to the 2 female employees who were working on 12/20/2016 in the evening. You two...
