First of all, this place is a business not a school. Meaning they don't care about giving you a quality education and preparing you well for your boards. They only want to take your money and in return give you instructors who don't even qualify to teach on a college level show you how to become a nurse. And all they want is a paycheck or the experience because they themselves are still in school pursuing a masters disagree and need the position to fulfill one of the requirements of the masters program. During the time I was there I watched people come and go from the president, dean, teachers, admin, etc on down. They never stay long because they always wind up getting fired or quitting. Even the lessons were a joke. And the Hesi program that they used was so hard to grasp even the teachers couldn't help or explain how to pass it. Do yourself a favor and go to a real college with teachers who are qualified and care about you passing your boards. Don't waste your time with places like this, they make it real easy to get in but, once you are in you see them for who they really are and by that time you have been charged dearly. Do your research and check with the board of nursing before choosing a school. Last time I checked this one had an F because the people who did make it out of the school was not passing...
Read moreI graduated from the ADN Program here at Fortis and passed NCLEX a couple months after on the first try. My experience at Fortis was amazing. The nursing staff gave me the tools and knowledge I needed to prepare and sit for boards. I’d be lying if I said the journey was easy but it wasn’t. It was tough but not impossible. Nursing is no joke and one must really have a passion for it to be successful. There will be moments where you feel like giving up but that’s when you reach deep down inside of you and remember the reason you started in the first place. Every single nursing staff is there to help whenever needed. The professors may seem tough and Dean Lue but only because they truly care and want to see you succeed. I can’t forget about my fellow colleagues with whom I shared my experience with and who played a part in my success as well from the study groups we had to the late evenings practicing together on the mannequins for Capstone, it was worth it. Thank you to the amazing nursing staff and my colleagues! Thank you Fortis! The experience you have here at Fortis is what you make it. If you take the time and put in the work you will...
Read moreIf you have other options do your self a favor and make this school your LAST resort. Nursing school is already stressful, and this place makes it worse with how unorganized and unprepared they are. The instructors are mostly former nurses with little to no teaching experience they might know how to perform skills but they can’t explain the reasoning behind them or properly teach the material. They are just confused as students 75% of the time. And some people come into nursing school with no nursing experience at all so that’s extremely unfortunate for them. There’s no structure, no study plans, and lessons feel random and poorly thought out. When you ask questions, no one seems to have clear answers. Clinical placements are just as chaotic. For the high tuition we pay, resources are minimal, there’s no consistent tutoring, and you’re left to teach yourself most of the content. From academics to financial aid, the entire system is disorganized. If you have other schools to choose from or can afford to wait, do yourself a favor and avoid this one unless it’s truly your last option because for 50k it’s not worth it. (For...
