ALDI — Local services in Portage

Love this grocery chain. Store is well displayed and organized. Easy to find items we're looking for. I love that the prices stay the same on the items. I've memorized the prices on the items. There are NEVER any discrepancies on our receipts. I have never experienced an error on our bill/receipt and we had discrepancies often at other grocery stores. Their prices are always low; lower than anywhere else. We love the fresh produce. Fruits and veggies are always fresh. And love the shopping cart situation. Putting a quarter in the cart and returning it to cart corral is a very smart idea. Wish other stores would do this. They don't have shopping carts left all over the parking lot. I have been shopping at the ALDI named stores, in two states, for more than 30 years. I have watched and experienced their growth from a "stock up" store to the gourmet store they have now become. It's usually near in vicinity to a W-mart super center. I look for any excuse to stay away from that horrid atmosphere. ALDI offers great pricing and products from low end to high end. All your basics to some splurge items that you just cant resist! Low overhead and bag your own atmosphere keeps prices down and (I believe) employees paid well. Correct me, if Im wrong. Aldis now has a better selection of products from all over the world and is still cheaper than Walmart. I get most of what I can here and get the rest either at Festival Foods or Walmart in Portage. It's not just a store for poor people, as a lot of people think it is. It's an Awesome store with some exotic foods from different countries and helps you save money, also The employees there are Great people and super friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable.
