5 Below has become one of my favorite places to shop for stocking stuffers, novelty items related to tv and movies and other cultural media, and even books and personal or seasonal items. The items are not cheap "knockoffs" (unlike the poor quality of dollar store equivalents), and they are often unique: not readily found at Wal-Mart or other, larger variety chains, such as Wal-Mart or Meijer. This has become my go-to srore for a "good behavior while shopping and errand-running" reward for my children .... And for me. I was just shopping with 2 young kids, had loads to shop for, half a cart full of items already and had JUST walked past 2 bathrooms. The store had maybe 8 people total inside. My potty training toddler was about to poop his pants and the employees refused to let us use the restroom. They directed us to leave the store & use their neighbors bathrooms. Read moreI arrived at the store 30 minutes before closing, which is enough time to shop however prior to even the doors closing. They had shut the light off while I was still shopping and started vacuuming around me. No one helped me check out asked me if I found everything OK and left the vacuum cleaner in the way of the door so I had to move around it. The customer service was so disrespectful not even just not polite. They were just disrespectful vacuuming Around me physically, there was no announcement that The store was closing or an announcement of how many minutes were left. Just literally lights off...
