Office Depot — Local services in Portage

I started a business account at this store today and made a larger purchase. The selection was great for what I was looking for and the store was clean. The "staff" were completely inept. Two were sitting on the checkout counter discussing their low wages while there were 4 customersin line. One was attempting to eat a burrito, and the fourth was doing her best to help me with a special order, however, had no knowledge on how to do it. I attempted to be cordial, however, not one of these employees had a proper name tag and avoided any pleasantries. I completed my order and went back to my vehicle thinking the receipt was a bit light. I reviewed my receipt and noticed one special order item was not placed, so returned to the same cashier. The order was corrected with moderate difficulty again. As I was leaving, again in an attempt to be cordial, said "have a good Sunday ladies." I kid you not, there was a low muffled hiss from one of the staff. I am completely taken back. If I hadn't spent 45 minutes placing my order I would have returned everything right then and there. To start off, I don't leave many reviews unless if something has happened that was exceptional Or other words Really BAD...Well today was a great day stepping into the Office Max store. I normally shop here for my office needs and to have forms laminated from time to time. They have always been a good store and pretty good vibes. Today was different and it all started with an employee Named "MAX ERB" she was phenomenal and one of the best striving customer service individuals I have ever come IN contact with. Smiling from ear to ear, Listened to my needs and offered really good info. I was obviously having something Laminated and I was even now more then eager to purchase something so I was more able to shop longer and added more to my order just because I was treated awesome and best energy from MAX ERB once again this how customer service should be...Thank you MAX for making my day great and to keep me coming back to Office MAX. Company does not stand by their guarantee of “order 1 hour before store closes and we will guarantee your order will be ready for pick up within 20 minutes or you will receive $20 off your next qualifying purchase.” I placed an order at 6:00 pm on Monday store closed at 8:00 pm, went into the store to pick up the order at 7:40 pm. Asked them if they could just mark my order “complete” since I was there with the items I purchased in hand and the manager told me “I will get in trouble and I cannot do that.” So I thought “oh well, I’ll just come back tomorrow.” By noon the next day it was still not ready. I called the customer service and they were not helpful with the situation. No customer repair attempts were made and “$20 off your next qualifying purchase” was not offered, and when asked it was “go back to the store and see if they will honor this.” I will definitely not be ordering from here again, especially not the curbside.
