When I first came to the store, the front of the store smelled so bad. and when i entered the store, it smelt like the laundry room. Then when we gave the totes and bags of clothes that were being sold. they only took a few and and said " we are only looking for casual stuff, and seems like the stuff your giving us is from 2021 and we want college clothes and trendy clothes" something like that, don't quote me on it tho, anyways. they only gave us a little bit of money, when we looked through the clothes there, i felt like those clothes were NOT sanitary and looks like it had Chernobyl gas chemicals on it. and all the stuff was insanely overpriced as lets say i gave a shirt and they gave me 1 dollar for it, they are gonna resell that shirt for 20 or 30 dollars. The shoes were okay they had jordans and nike but in bad condition and they charged a lot of money for it. I felt like the store didn't have the right sanitation standards and the smell in the store was awful. although the staff was nice and helpful, which is the only reason i am giving you guys two stars. but when they said "we don't accept these types of stuff (which was regular casual wear) and they told us to go to Style Encore which when we gave our stuff to them they said the exact thing, they want EVEN MORE casual wear. to me it feels like both businesses are failing and need each other to make it by. Also, when they rejected our clothes, they said "would you like to donate those?" which probably meant they're gonna sell that for profit. And they say "used clothes" when they want not used clothes that i never wore, and they will reject the slightest little thing that counts...
Read moreToday was the first time I ever entered a plato's closet, I went with my girlfriend and we had shopped for about ten minutes when she realized she left her wallet in the car. As I walked out to grab her wallet , something in the wallet she gave me for christmas set off the door alarm. I paused and shrugged at the male worker at the counter before I walked out to the car and promptly returned. When I walked in I was understandably approached by employees, who were confused, which I understand. What I don't understand is the female employee at the counter rudely telling me without even a second to explain that I needed to leave. I showed them that it was just my wallet setting it off by walking repeatedly through the doors.
I understand protecting merchandise, but the way this interaction was handled was extremely unprofessional. No customer appreciates being accused of stealing. MUCH LESS being kicked out after RETURNING to explain. to the lady at the counter 1. i forgive you but be better 2. WHAT KIND OF CRIMINAL IS GONNA COME BACK IN THE DOOR. SHOW SOME PROFESSIONALISM AND CRITAL...
Read moreWent into the store trying to sell brand new name brand items, only to be paid less than twenty dollars for 6 items. Several of the name brand new parkas I brought in weren’t taken, which is odd because winter items are in demand at this store. Hollister, American Eagle brands and I was told they were more than two years old so they were no longer “in style.” I question the accuracy of that as these aren’t even clothes I’ve had for that length of time. I also question the accuracy of their pricing system as it seems you get shortchanged for the items you do bring in. Meanwhile the quality of the clothes in the store aren’t always the greatest. Makes no sense to bring in clothes in perfect condition only to leave with a few dollars and have even name brand clothes rejected. While I’ve had far better luck at other franchises like the one in Battle Creek, there’s better places to sell— this location won’t give you your money’s worth. At the end of the day they profit off shortchanging your items even if in...
