My siblings and I scheduled a play time today for 12:30pm. First of all, I have seen another review regarding the owner profiling his customers! I 100% agree with that comment. That was the first impression we got when we walked into the play area for dogs. He repeatedly told us several times to make sure we were cleaning up after our dogs. As I was cleaning, I could hear him telling us again to clean up well. Like as if we didn’t know! Plus I was looking around at the floor and it did not even seemed like it got mopped or cleaned in weeks. Clearly the owner is a racist! We also had one of our dogs on her period and he made it seem like she was sick! Again, repeatedly telling us to take her to the Vet. As they do, yearly! They took her in today and guess what! Nothing wrong!..We were only there for a 10 minutes. I told my siblings we were leaving because I immediately did not like this guys behavior. I asked the guy if he was the owner and he said yes. He said he would be giving us a refund due to our stay not being the complete 30 minutes as stated on the website. I will see if that is true. I am disappointed in this small business store as it is places like this where I like to buy my dogs food and treats. I have never encountered this type of rude, unnecessary behavior in a small business store before. I will not be recommending this store to any of my dog pet parent friends! I am very curious to see if more people have encountered this type...
Read moreWent to this shop the other day to do some Holiday shopping for some friend's dogs and pick up extra supplies for my own kitty if they had any, which to my surprise they had a nice little kitty corner with a decent toy selection. However, my experience with whomever was working was very uncomfortable, borderline hostile. The guy was definitely profiling me and followed me around the store, checking my hands making sure they didn't get too close to my bag. When I asked about the cat trees and if they were for sale, he seemed annoyed that I even inquired about them, and very much dissuaded me from purchasing the one for sale. He did offer me a discount on a separate item I was looking at, but I truly believe this was tactic to push me to leave the premises. I was worried that if I didn't buy anything it would've prompted a bag search so I ended up purchasing a couple of things to avoid a scene. He was very friendly and welcoming to the other patrons in the shop, all of whom were part of the majority demographic. It was really disappointing as I like to support local shop owners, but I cannot condone that kind of...
Read moreI was coming to the shop for a while before I realized they have an indoor dog park here! I've been going to the park now for 4-5 months and have recommended it to friends and neighbors. The dog park has open play at 12:30 and 5:00, it's very reasonably priced, not crowded - usually a few dogs - very nice, clean, with lots of toys. The dogs and people I've encountered at the park are very nice, well-behaved. There are some dogs who are regulars and others who show up on occasion. The owner Eric is very nice and you can tell he really cares for the dogs. If you have a nice dog and clean up after them I think you will enjoy this great neighborhood doggie resource - and the shop also has good quality outerwear, toys, food, treats, etc.
Good Dog PDX is in a nice neighborhood with an excellent sandwich shop, beer pub, wine tasting room, and more - you can make it an afternoon...
