The atmosphere is good and the only reason it's 2 stars and not one. I would choose the rooftop bar over the indoor and outdoor seating with Show Bar, but I haven't had luck yet finding seating up on the roof.
The service is kind of slow. The bartenders are pretty scatter-brained so it's likely they'll get your order wrong. I've been here twice and my order was wrong both times. First time I asked for the egg mcmorton with bacon and I received it without bacon. I wasn't charged for it so I didn't say anything. I gave them another try tonight and the same thing happened. I got the burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce. I didn't get the onion rings. I tried to talk to the bartender but I was being charged $6 for onion rings when the upcharge would have been $2. The food is not good. The egg sandwich was VERY salty and that was the only flavor; in hindsight, I'm happy I didn't get the bacon bc it would've been saltier. The burger was just sad, just super dry, not seasoned well, and definitely not worth the $9.
The drinks are ok, nothing special and a...
Read moreI hate to be a whiny b, but man this is just really an awful place to catch a show. It's such a shame too because Revolution Hall is easily in contention for best venue in Portland. And then the poor, forgotten Show Bar is in contention for the worst. It's a space that feels somewhere between a hotel convention room and a hallway.
There's no flow, there's no soul. It's literally just a long rectangle that somewhat resembles one lane at a bowling alley.
All the sound is at the front so if you are anywhere past the first 10 rows of people all you get is this buffeted, muffled spillover of unloved sound.
Inexplicably, they also leave the overhead lights on for 2/3 of the length of this essential hallway. So there's no warmth, no vibe, no quality of ambience or structure of having created an event. It's clearly just a room that they said hey, we can pack 300 people in here. And that's all it is! A sardine can with a couple gel lights and a lo-fi...
Read moreThe food is good!!! Service was disappointing and rushed. Be sure you pull up the venues website to study the food & drink menu before you get to the bar. Dont forget to look up ingredients you arent familiar with too, because based on my groups experience, it was a visible inconvenience to ask questions. We aren't the experts here, you guys are. And if I'm spending my money on a beverage that starts at 10 bucks, I'd like to make sure I enjoy the ingredients. Also, this is an event space. You have folks visiting from all over the state. If we come to you for some clarification on parking or your bars style of service, it would benefit your business and tip jar by not replying in a short snarky tone when all we want is some clarification and helpful direction. It was such a buzz kill before our show and totally...
