I went into Momento store on Hawthorne Boulevard yesterday on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at about 2:30 PM. I walked around the store for about 10 minutes. I picked out two bags I wanted to buy. I was planning on buying these two bags before I even entered the store my alarm on my smart phone went off, so I went up to the cashiers counter took my phone out of a bag That had hummingbirds on it that had been in my coat pocket. I have bought it at Powellâs bookstore, but noticed that memento had the same bag for sale with the hummingbirds on it. I shut my alarm off saleswoman had been following me around store I didnât mind she said to me , you have to leave now youâre making me nervous youâre talking to yourself and thatâs always a bad sign told her calmly I wasnât talking to myself and I was talking to God she said âgoodâ.I was talking very low no higher than a whisper I was praying out loud, but no louder than a whisper. It was offensive to me. Saleswoman said it was bad sign to talk to yourself. I was praying to the Lord, not talking to myself. Thatâs never a bad sign. What was a bad sign is her mean judgmental attitude towards me. It was also a bad sign to me that there is huge picture of the devil up on the wall in store portrayed as a cute cartoon character, but the devil isnât cute. Devil is symbol of evil. Thereâs nothing cute about evil. Picture of a devil up on the wall at Momento makes memento seem like a satanic store. I told saleswoman sorry I made you nervous. She told me I could buy the two bags I was holding I was grateful I could buy the two bags I was planning on buying, but I was interested in buying something else in the store, but I didnât have a chance because she told me I had to leave. I like your long hair I told her, I was polite, nice to her the whole time I was in store, ,but she was very hostile towards me. I left store with hurt feelings for a long time I knew I had done nothing wrong. My hope is that your business isnât mean again to a shopper again your advertisement says your transgender friendly, but please be friendly to everybody not just transgender people. Thank you for...
Read moreAmazing gift shop, & Miranda (the owner?) Is wonderful! Having no luck finding a gift shop that would deliver to a loved one in the hospital, I called Memento & explained my dilemma. Miranda happily accepted my special request for same day delivery & went above & beyond in helping me select adorable gifts from her shop, even took pictures of items and sent them to me so I could see everything & choose. Customer service and communication with her was an absolute delight, she was so patient, kind, personable, & really cared. She wrapped all the gifts, created a lovely care package, and delivered them herself to the hospital for me, & updated me throughout the process. The recipient absolutely loved the gifts & it brought a lot joy to them. Thank you Miranda, for going out of your way, all the extra you did, & how much you care about your customers & the recipients of the gifts. You are truly a very special person & I really...
Read moreAn utter delight! I happened to be lucky enough to interact with the owner of the shop when I stopped in just before Christmas, and she had so much knowledge about her stock, and was SO friendly and helpful, and glad to interact. I find myself needing a gift for the end of the week, and I'll be stopping here first to get one. (Also, great covid safety measures! Another reason to go here over other places, which act like taking steps in the interest protecting one another is something...
