Oregon-Washington Bridge — Local services in Portland

This isn't like crossing the Golden Gate five hundred miles to the south. The bridge looks like it was built from a child's erector Set and unless you're riding in the cab of an 18 wheeler, the sightlines don't allow for much of a view of the beautiful Columbia River below. I'd hate to think how this bridge would hold up to a major quake but it's due to be modernized (long overdue) from funds made available from the Infrastructure bill. My mom, cousin and I have been in a car and went below this bridge on the Oregon side and that this is a cool bridge. The name of the bridge is interstate bridge it is a pair of steel vertical-lift, Parker through-truss bridges. The bridge carries interstate 5 across the bridge and many vehicles pass through the bridge daily and there is a plan to replace this bridge...

So the DOT gives Fines every day for Unsecured loads, makes $,$$$,$$$,$$$ off the Fines and this is where our tax money goes “Not”. Random Cinderblocks and Ultrablock (3,000lbs) are just loosely chilling above our heads as we drive over the bridge, this is a Disaster waiting to happen….
