I’ve owned the Ratio 8 coffee machine for two years, and while it produces great-tasting coffee and is visually stunning, my experience has been far from ideal. For a machine at this price point, I expected reliability, but that hasn’t been the case.
The problems started early on with the machine overflowing during the brewing process. To manage this, I’ve had to switch to Chemex filters, as the mesh filter sold by Ratio overflows every time, regardless of grind size. This seems to be a common issue based on other reviews I’ve seen.
Additionally, the machine has a tendency to randomly shut off mid-cycle every dozen or so brews. It’s frustrating and inconsistent, leaving me with half-brewed coffee and wasted time. There have also been instances where the power button simply doesn’t work at all—I’ve had to unplug and plug the machine back in to reset it. To make matters worse, I’ve already had to replace the fuse, which isn’t something I expected to deal with on a product marketed as premium.
While the coffee quality is excellent, and the machine’s design is undeniably beautiful, these persistent issues make it hard to recommend. At this price point, a coffee machine should deliver both form and function without these kinds...
Read moreI am an early Ratio customer, who has had some problems with my Ratio 8. Issues come up. It's how they're handled that makes the difference. I have received excellent service over time under warrantee including Transportation to and back from repairs. I received timely information from both the company CEO and staff, and they have worked with me to solve any problem that surfaced,
There is thought in the small business community suggesting that to maximize success, the key is providing high quality service to customers. Good customer service is expected and that the real key to company longevity is exceeding expectations.
In general, customer service has taken a hit, especially in light of all the automation and computer based communication that's standard today. Personal communication with real people is increasingly rare.
The highest accolade is one that Ratio has now achieved from me. Customer service, as I have experienced Ratio now meets my topmost...
Read moreWe bought our ratio8, 2 years ago. It stopped working after about a year and a half. Fortunately it was covered under warranty. Unfortunately it has taken this company 4 months to fix it (still waiting to get it back). In the meantime they won't give me a replacement. They told me everything is out of stock so I'm stuck waiting. A $600 coffee maker should not break after a year and a half. Their customer service is terrible. I would never buy from them again.
Responding to the company's reply: I wish your customer service was as fast and your response to Google reviews. An 11-12 week service time is unacceptable, don't you think? And it's a blatant LIE that you offered us a loaner - due to your "supply" issues you were unable to offer a loaner nor a replacement Please check your "notes" again. You need to work on your customer...
