Second Shapes Bookstore — Local services in Portland

I’m so thrilled to have Second Shapes just down the block!! Exactly what Denver st needed. The intentional selection of books is just perfection- local authors, queer and social liberation themes, graphic novels, kids books, best sellers… there’s something for everyone. I love how Danielle is uplifting and featuring other small biz owners and the community she is growing around the shop - very excited to join the queer book club and kids story time and all the other fun events. It feels like way more than just a bookstore and you can tell they’ve poured their hearts into creating this sweet community resource. 15/10...

I was unreasonably excited when I heard Kenton was getting a bookstore, and even so, Second Shapes has totally exceeded my expectations. The store has a great, eclectic selection, its shelves are stocked with work by local authors and artists, and Danielle is such a warm, welcoming presence—not to mention an ace organizer, I can't believe how many events she's organized in the month she's been open. I adore this place and feel so lucky that it's right...

The new gem we needed in north portland! Plenty of selection in a variety of genres and a few stands to showcase local books, zines and art. We look forward to bringing our kids to the events and are excited for the many offerings to come. It’s also encouraging to see this shop fit right in with the other small business and expand on the lovely small downtown vibe Kenton has established. Cozy...
