So we ordered when they opened, we made a call in order and they said the food would be ready in ten minutes. I would have preferred they taken their time as some of the food was absolutely disgustingly undercooked.
Having worked in the industry for many years I imagine their fryer wasn't fully heated, or whatever oil they used for fries and Chimichanga were not properly up to heat.
The chimichanga was a mess, uneatable. Instead of what a chimichanga should be by definition it was an oily not crispy not even close too fried burrito that was sitting in a pool of oil making the burrito just an over oily mess. We didn't eat it and threw it in the trash if the owners see this we'd love a refund! I avoided coming back to return it myself, because I didn't wanna get into a confrontation with anyone just working. Yes! I am upset, because that food wasn't for me! So while I got to enjoy my fine Chorizo burrito my partner had nothing to eat. For the price I feel I was ripped off. It also advertises on their website that the meal comes with rice....no rice, just beans and some lettuce.
Again with the fryer temp oil, the fries were entirely under cooked to a point that also uneatable...in the trash they go. So that's about 17 dollars in the trash for oily undercooked junk.
Be careful what you order here. They may value getting it to you faster rather than cooking it properly. I...
Read moreHusband and I tried Casa Maya for the first time. He had 3 ground beef soft tacos and said they were very good and filling. The tortillas were a good handful not the small size. I had the chicken enchiladas plate, which came with 3 enchiladas, beans (choice of refried or black), and rice. The chicken was delicious, very tender and flavorful. The enchiladas plate was generous (both the enchiladas and sides), all was flavorful (I didn't use the additional salsas that were served with it), and definitely filling. I actually got 3 meals out of it, but that's stretching it. We also had Fanta pop bottled in Mexico. Our two meals and drinks cost just over $29 before tip. We ate inside, but there is also ample outside covered seating on the expanded sidewalk. There were probably 15+ customers seated outside. We were served our food, but bussed our table when done. There is a bar area inside toward the back, but the inside is quite sparse, little decoration or design, no ambiance to speak of. That's where they could improve, as the look and feel of the restaurant doesn't do the food justice. If the inside looked half as good as the food tastes, I would have given it 5 stars. I will...
Read moreBeen here twice now since it opened. The first time was on the first day and then again today for lunch to-go. The first time we came we ordered a Machaca burrito, the taco plate (asada, carnitas, chicken), the Codzitos (deep fried rolled tacos/taquitos), and one beef tamal. We wanted to try a bit of everything. They also gave us chips and salsa with our order. The salsa was so fresh and so good. A little too mild for me but very tasty. The taquitos/codzitos were amazing. It's a very large portion and it could easily serve as a meal. Not to mention they are STUFFED with shredded beef. Usually taquitos have very little filling. It's topped with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and sour cream. The taco plate was amazing. The chicken taco was actually the best one! The tamal was huge and not dry at all. The machaca burrito was also amazing and we ended up saving it for the next day.
For lunch today we tried the pastor burrito and carnitas burrito. Both very good, I would actually probably skip the al pastor next time as I think it lacked a little flavor. But everything else was great. Definitely my new...
