2 friends and I were in town for the night and only found this place by searching Google for bars with live music near our hotel. It was a Saturday night so we went early (around 9pm) due to not knowing their parking situation. We found a spot along the residential street about a block away. As we were about to enter, a heavily buzzed fellow in a wheelchair said something about the weather and reached the door at the same time we did. He seemed like he was in good spirits and I immediately thought I'd love the place. It's got a small, biker-bar feel: dark, a little dirty, and has a stage and pool table. I liked the setup of the pool table being somewhat separated from the stage and dance floor. It was pretty empty at first but filled up as the night went on. We sat at the bar the whole time. The bartender was a rail-thin dude who looked to be about 40 and didn't pay us much attention at all for the first 15 minutes or so. Once he did, he got our drinks quickly. I was a little surprised at the cost however, with a Captain and coke being $6. Even the bars in bigger cities stay around $5 most of the time. Upon ordering the 2nd round I asked about the food that somebody else had bragged about a tad earlier. He said he's really busy and it would be close to 2 hours before he could get it to us. Of course he just didn't want to cook so I laughed and said nevermind. The 3 of us split our time between chatting, watching some classic horror flicks they had playing, and watching others shoot pool. By the way, if you want to play pool here, you put your name on a chalkboard then jump in randomly - because they really don't follow the order. The jukebox was spitting out a mixed collection of tunes until about 10. The first band started and we suffered through that for about 90 minutes. The 2nd band came on and after about 45 minutes of more suffereing, we had to go. The mens' room is small with 1 urinal and 1 toilet. I'm not homophobic but would prefer more privacy at a urinal. This one has no divider and is right next to the sink. Overall I'd recommend this place because its what a bar should be in my opinion - dark, live music, pool, food, and a smoking area outside (for those of...
Read morePros: Good pours on drinks, good prices, nice little dive bar, cute venue for smaller bands.
Cons: Extremely rude service by only one bartender. San Diego hat, longer beard and a horrible attitude. I've never been treated so poorly. If it is that big of a deal to use a card to by a single drink then maybe a cash only policy should be put into place. I fully understand that it costs a business to run credit cards, but if your bartenders are going to yell at people for using them then maybe even a card minimum could be implemented. The bartender with the San Diego hat on poured my drink, ran my card then shot attitude at me for using that method of payment. He then came back to me and said, "give me your drink." He took my drink threw it in a sink, took money out of his cash register and threw it at me. He then started yelling at me and told me to get out. The people around me were just as shocked as I was. Simply embarrassing for a middle aged man who should have some manners working in the service industry. If it wasn't for the loose cannon of a bartender the time spent there would have been great. Spreading the word and will gladly...
Read moreThey have a huge patio! Closer to the bar are tons of tables closer together. Farther out from the building, there are spread out covered tables. They feel like personal booths, real cozy and perfect for dates.
I don't drink alcohol anymore and they have a ton of non-alcoholic choices! 🙌 After going to lots more bars with lousy N/A options, this is at the top of my list for N/A hang outs and meets.
I got an order of fries, as far as bar fries go, they were pretty good. I'd come back and get them again. Customer service was rad too.
Lost a star on atmosphere, solely on an isolated experience where I terribly unfortunately overheard some gross dudes loudly having a disgusting conversation. Not really the bar's fault, I was able to move to a diff table, it...
