I had been seeing the advertisement from the The Jewelry Buyer on MeTV ( I think) and it reminded me that I had a beautiful dress watch from my dad that I hadn't worn in years. I have a small collection of watches but this one, being a dress watch, with both the watch case and band in 14k gold, was a bit too flashy for my style. The tv ad also reminded me that gold prices are up there right now, I think just under $1800 per ounce, so I decided it was time to sell it.
I visited four jewelry shops in Portland, including two of which were in downtown (as an aside, dealing with the traffic and parking in downtown Portland was a hassle) and of the four I visited earlier today, Randy at the Jewelry Buyer provided me with the highest price for my gold watch.
