Curio Artisan Chocolate — Local services in Portsmouth

This isn’t just chocolate, it’s art [& according to last night – a bit of science 😉 ]!

Our family stumbled upon La Cascade du Chocolat a few years ago while walking around Portsmouth and were instantly hooked! Since then, it’s become a special treat to stop in while downtown to go in and grab a bon-bon as a pick me up while doing a little shopping or socializing nearby. It’s fun to surprise local family members with a treat from here. I have even flown some Christmas boxes to New Zealand (keeping the hollow hippo intact for that journey was no small feat...). The Barbara Ann’s chocolate chip bar has been my favorite for years!

Both shops are beautifully decorated and capture the quintessentially quaint New England charm you would hope for.

Last night we took a class with the chocolatiers and had such a wonderful time. We never realized how much time/effort/energy go into each piece! The attention to detail is incredible!! The quality and sourcing of ingredients is beyond any standards that the general consumer is used to today. And did you know there are only two amazing women behind all of the chocolate making magic?!

If you were debating checking it out, this is your sign.. you will not be disappointed! Oh, and the classes.. 100/10 recommend.

Small Chocolate Shop with Unique Selections

Very much for the chocolate snob, there's plenty of truffles and single origin chocolates to choose from, as well as seasonal flavors and hot chocolates.

Excellent chocolate, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is always a new type of bar or bonbon to try (the Summer Citrus bar is to die for), but there are always my favorites as well (you won't regret the Almonds & Sea Salt - ever).
