What a disaster! I had a very helpful sales associate in home appliances who helped me get the refrigerator I wanted. It was delivered within five days. So far so good. I bought groceries, turned on the ice maker … But the next morning the refrigerator was not running, and it had tripped the fuse. I could not get it to stay on for more than 20 minutes. It was a Saturday, and my birthday, with out of town guests, so I could not call Home Depot or the manufacturer LG. I did the next morning shortly after 7AM on a Sunday. LG did answer and tried to diagnose it over the phone, telling me the coils were likely frozen and I needed to unplug it for 8 hours and let it run for 8 hours before putting food in. That seemed improbable (and it also meant losing food I bought before), though I gave it a try. Clearly nothing was frozen back there. I had my adult son call that afternoon and we made a little more headway, but the fridge was still not running. We plugged it into a different outlet to see if it was a problem with the electric plug (which seemed unlikely since the previous refrigerator never went out). It still went off after a few minutes. I could not call Monday because of appointments, and again called first thing on Tuesday morning. This time LG said they would send a technician, but couldn’t find one immediately. I would get a call back, and they would likely come within 3-5 business days. Only heard back today, Wednesday, and it will be EIGHT days before they will show up!!!!
In the mean time I called Home Deport Tuesday, telling them I received the delivery late on Friday afternoon, had started making calls (recorded) on Sunday AM, and could I return it since I began my attempts to deal with this lemon well before the 48-hour return window. At first the women who answered the phone was very sympathetic and unhappy at what I was experiencing and said she would try to make it right. But after talking to her manager, she gave me a flat no, with the explanation that even if I tried to return it Sunday, they would have insisted I talk to LG first. So you are given 48 hours to return, but if it is a lemon, they won’t take it. Now I have food I have to throw out, no refrigertor or freezer for MORE than a week, and no recourse? No compensation for the meals I have to eat out?
Both LG and Home Depot, whose products and stores I have used for years, showed no care or real service for a regular customer. Just a shrug and a TEXT telling me of my appointment. No one reaches out. A sign of the times. I usually shop locally owned businesses, but that is a bit trickier with appliances. I won’t be such...

Read moreDO NOT TRUST HOME DEPOT OR THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY LIE! I ordered a new fridge and when it was delivered, there was a big dent in the front panel. So they told me to call customer service and they would take care of it. After calling they told me i'd have to wait 2 weeks and they would get me a new one. After I checked out the fridge further. I realized that it had damaged my laminate flooring while installing it. Taking out a inch size chunk where the wheel goes for the fridge. On top of that, they also Damage the driveway. I reported this when I called customer service and was told that it would take two weeks to get the new fridge in and that I would be getting a call about the damage that was done. I called multiple times and they always said someone would call me and no one ever called. Then 2 weeks comes and they deliver the NEW fridge and the outside looked Great, I was happy. When I looked inside the manual and papers were taped to the side of the fridge. I didn't think anything of it. Once the installors had left. I grabbed the manual to read it, realizing that there was a big scratch that had been HIDDEN behind the manuals. At that point I was so frustrated with the process. I figured the blemish wasn't on the outside, I'll just live with it. Then during the night there was this horrendous noise that started and lasted between 15 and 30 seconds. I didn't know what it was at first it took me a couple days of this happening maybe once a day when I was home and finally I figured it out. It was the NEW fridge, the noise is coming from the side of the fridge that was damaged that was supposed to be NEW the fridge they gave me was not new. How do you damage a new fridge on the inside? DO NOT TRUST HOME DEPOT OR THERE CUSTOMER...
