Very good pizza. Trying to be objective here for a native New Yorker. The pizza is a lot better than take-out from the franchise pizzerias. And the price was cheap for the quality food, I thought. A very good deal.
The sauce and pepperoni were very good and the fresh basil leaves were just right.
The fresh mozzarella I ordered was so-so, nothing special. The crust, really important to me at least, was not the greatest. I ordered a thin crust and it was nice and crispy, but wasn't like really good pizza crust I've had before. Again, I'm being prejudiced by growing up in New York, and the pizza here is not like that. The crust is a bit crackery for what I expect pizza crust to be, no rise, no crispy black bubbles. But it was indeed crispy and tasty. (Note: I think thin crust should be eaten immediately because it naturally gets soggy fast, so it's best eaten there, not as good for takeout. Thin crust gets cold and soggy quicker, and that's not the fault of the pizza place.)
I was surprised there was no parmesan cheese to be found, so I ordered a side of the grana padrona cheese to sprinkle. It's too mild for a parmesan substitute. Maybe here in the Pacific Northwest where folks prefer blander it will be popular, just not so much for me.
Besides no grated Parmesan available, there also wasn't any dried red chili flakes which I would have liked.
In all, a very good pizza, and maybe great for the nice folks around here, if not for a New York pizza...
Read moreHighway Robbery! I literally was dumbfounded when I was told my pizza which was 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni was going to cost me... wait for it....drum roll.... $29 dollars! WHAT? Then the best part--- to open it up and see it has like this thin spackling of cheese and 7 tiny crunchy shriveled pieces of pepperoni.... Bite into it and you have a pizza that is on par with some of the cheapest pizzas on the planet like LIttle Caesars or "Pizza time" except this one is permeated with an overpowering oregano seasoning in this spongy crust.... and the crust.. nothing to brag about- just a lot of dough and it is desperately missing cheese to balance out all that bread! Our family knows great pizza, and I have no idea where these reviews came from. Must be a lot of wealthy Seattl-ites passing through town that are used to paying too much for everything. I couldn't be more disillusioned.... LIke yeah... the economy and inflation is taking its toll on everyone--- but when did a cheese pizza cost more than $15 bucks? (And they charged for a full pepperoni when it was just half)... Poor reviews come when you overcharge for an inferior product. You only get one time to make a first impression... or it will be the last. ...
Read moreYes, the sauce is on top. When I got the box with the “pizza” inside and saw there was no sauce besides the nasty caramel balsamic trash they put on it, I asked for the sauce on top.
Miserable “pizza.” Crust is sitting pre-baked (and yet somehow still raw after being ‘baked!?!?’) in a pile next to their toppings, they put on your toppings (be mindful to make sure they put sauce on it), and then run it through a toaster for 30-45 seconds. A pita flatbread joint would be a more accurate description.
This is a “Bella” with pepperoni that I then asked for tomato sauce on top. This “masterpiece” cost $15.
I’d avoid this place at all costs. I ate two slices and just got dominoes delivered.
Oh yeah, and minimum 18% tip for zero effort pickup at the counter food.
EDIT: I want to mention I specifically asked for the sauce on top after I saw there was none. The look of the pizza was at no fault the restaurant/employee. Owner did indeed refund me. I feel it was a kind, though...
