My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Sauce Nouvelle Bistro during their opening week, and what an outstanding experience it was. Having been devoted patrons of owners Nic and Brandon's original Sauce Nouvelle location on Bainbridge Island since relocating here in August 2024, I was thrilled to learn they were expanding into dinner service.
The original Sauce Nouvelle has long held the distinction of being both my and my 10-year-old daughter's favorite restaurant—a lunch-only establishment known for exceptional sandwiches made with molecular gastronomy cooking techniques. When the opportunity arose to experience their dinner offerings, it was an absolute must.
We began with the Chicken Rillette appetizer, which was nothing short of extraordinary. For our main courses, I selected the lamb while my girlfriend chose the salmon. Both dishes were masterfully prepared, featuring perfectly cooked proteins accompanied by vibrant, succulent vegetables and thoughtfully crafted bases that enhanced each component beautifully.
What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional hospitality. My girlfriend has several food allergies, and Nic and Brandon went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs, ensuring she felt completely comfortable throughout the meal. She remarked that it was genuinely the finest restaurant experience she's ever had.
Our evening concluded with dessert—I enjoyed the XVOO chocolate ganache while my girlfriend was treated to a specially prepared thyme and elderflower sorbet. Both were absolutely divine.
Sauce Nouvelle Bistro demonstrates the same commitment to quality and hospitality that made me fall in love with their original location. I'm already planning to bring my daughter for her first dinner there next Friday. This is destined to become our new favorite dinner destination. I just wish it was closer to our house!
Highly recommended for anyone seeking an exceptional dining...
Read moreWe enjoyed an exceptional dinner last night! Everything was well seasoned, perfectly cooked and plated with delicious accompaniments. We were impressed by hint of unexpected (but great) flavors each dish had.
We ordered the Leek and Potato Bisque and the Chicken Rillettes as starters, the Salmon and New York Steak as entrees and the Chocolate Cake for dessert. The soup was a stand out, as was the delicate but delectable chocolate cake.
*A note for steak fans, you don’t specify temp here, the chef prepares the steak one way. It came out medium which was perfect and tender. I’m normally a filet fan but this was one of the better NY steaks I’ve had.
It was very cool to chat with the chef and owners as they checked in throughout the meal. All the staff was attentive and personable. There is a robot waiter that helps deliver your food too, how fun!
We had also stopped in for lunch on Friday, that was great as well. We showed up towards the end of the lunch hours and they had 2 options left: Turkey Club and Beef Salami with Brie. I was not able to capture pics of these as we were both so hungry and scarfed them down right away! Both were delicious!
We will be back for sure, and looking forward to trying other items on the menu as they update throughout...
Read moreCame in for the first time for dinner tonight. We were completely blown away by our experience. The food was incredible- unique, perfectly cooked, beautiful presentation, amazingly fresh. We had the nicoise, beef bourguignon, steak, butter lettuce salad, mushroom puff pastry, and pavlova- everything was delicious. The service was top notch- responsive, warm, genuine. I think the highlight of our evening was when the Chef Tae and Chef Nicolas came to our table to see how our experience was. The passion for the food and the customer experience is what will make us long-time customers. We’ve been a fan of Chef Tae at Ma Facon (another one you must try!) and now having the chance to meet Chef Nicolas and experience their amazing menu was such a delight for us. Welcome to the neighborhood! P.S. get that Tasmanian pepper drink on...
