We came here for Christmas dinner and I have to say it was busy as can be and normally we love the food here. It’s fresh and the majority of the dishes are really really good. FAIR WARNING: Don’t order the crab. Or at least don’t order the Dungeness. Just trying to save you what we went through. Again the rest of the food is great, but just don’t get the crab. It doesn’t even look or taste like Dungeness. Normally it’ll have a sweet fluffy full flavor but this tastes like mild dirt. Not dirt particles but what I imagine dirt would taste like. (Don’t eat dirt on a regular basis so I apologize) Honestly the key to this place is, make sure to tell them to bring your food out all at one time, or else you’ll have people eating their food while others wait and wait and wait. Not cool. Also maybe call ahead if you have kids and let them know what you’re ordering. We have a 6 year old and they don’t understand that kids need movement after about an hour of staying stationary. Edamame doesn’t work. So to be fair to Tastewei, they were really busy and crab probably shouldn’t be one of their specialties. The sushi on the other hand is great! Hopefully this helps some people. 5 stars for flavor and sushi. They lose a star for wait times and how they serve one person at a time and they lose another star...
Read moreIt is such a shame to see such a beautiful and regal restaurant fall victim to the pandemic. This restaurant is certainly unexpectedly phenomenal! The hostess is very polite and timely on seating and taking orders.
The food was outstanding! We had the "Sushi Regular" which is certainly enough to share, but I don't like sharing high quality food like this. So we ordered two and at $17.50 each the bill was only $40!!! This has been the most affordable, fresh and highest quality nigiri I've ever had. Absolutely the best in the Poulsbo area, possibly Kitsap county. The portion was large and the ingredients were on point. I cannot convey enough just how fresh it was and how well it was made.
We had a wonderful view out on our window booth, however I think that the view inside is more astounding. There were things moved around I'm assuming from the pandemic but if one really looks into the ambiance, it is really captivating. 5 stars around! I just have one complaint. There were not enough people there. This is a restaurant that should be packed. It was rather odd to sit so quietly enjoying...
Read morePlace was empty and looked like it was closed when I walked in. Tables by the windows were lined up end to end with no chairs. The bar had no equipment or chairs to sit. I was seated in a side room that had a view.
1 person was handling seating and services. Makes sense because it was empty.
Tables were dirty. Glass top had been wiped down but under the glass was dirty. The tables have crome siding on the edge and were filthy, finger prints and food smudges on every table. Under the tables looked as though they had not been cleaned in years. Window with the view was dirty inside. Outside no big deal but the inside should be clean. * I ordered a glass of water. The glass was dirty as well *, not surprised by that.
I chose to eat here because it appeared they had sushi. The menu picture and review pictures showed sushi. * THERE IS NO SUSHI ON THE MENU * The menu appears to be more takeout oriented now compared to previous reviews.
I was very concerned with the lack of cleanliness of the restaurant and can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Hopefully better than the...
