On Aug 7th I shared our experience at this Michaels location about how they should treat everyone equally - those in wheelchairs, those mobile, in strollers, etc as they don't. The alarms go off when someone in a wheelchair goes through the security system both entering and exiting. Some times in the past its only one of them, and even at one point for a short time, it they were set correctly, where it didn't go off when everyone went through, unless they were trying to take something that they weren't supposed to. Betty replied and said they would take care of it, etc. Today we had to drop off some packages, so we tried it again, and it went off very LOUDLY when the wheelchair went through. It was 4x as loud as last time on the 7th. Both entering and exiting. I saw 5 other people go through them, and nothing; the alarm didn't go off for them. When they go off for no reason, that means they are not set correctly! If they go off when a scooter or wheelchair goes through, then they are not set correctly! I have been told this many times by security people that know about these store panels, and we can go through other Micheals like the one in Carmel Mountain, and they don't go off. We have been to others, and they don't go off. But here, they definitely go off, and today was the worst, so obviously, they have no intention of fixing them. Disappointing that we are not able to shop there as its not right to have them go off when a wheelchair goes through! People in wheelchairs are more sensitive to these sounds than most typical people, so that even makes this worse! Betty gave us a small gift card, but money doesn't fix the issue! So disappointing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was down the street at Lowe's hardware store looking for a exacto knife and a magnifying lighted mirror for working on projects - something I knew they carried up at Home Depot but wouldn't have made it by the time they closed. I'm not sure of the nice girl that answered the phone with a verbal smile at Michaels, but I briefly explain to her where I was and what I needed - she immediately knew, 1) that They Carried something like that I was looking for, 2) where the were located and asked if I minded if she went and checked when she came back on the phone I told her that was exactly what I was looking for plus an exacto knife, I only had about 5 minutes to make it from Lowe's check out to Michaels, by the time she came back online I was just getting in my car they close in like 5 minutes I told her I was on my way and they actually had the items I wanted exactly, with ones I might want as alternatives for when I got there. When I did come racing in, I was stopped up front and told that they had the item sitting there waiting and that I would be next in line. The fact that I was in line kind of made them stay open a little later and you just don't see that kind of customer service anymore. I'm really hoping but that the "ME" generation, that unfortunately we fostered at least one child through - one day stands Toe to Toe with the new "What can I DO to HELP you" generation. I know this been a long evaluation but even if I'm shopping for groceries I'm going to start at Michael's first because you just can't buy excellent customer service which comes with an optional smile if you so desire! Go Michaels!!! Neal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked a party for my daughter here and online it states that invitations are included. They never gave us any and it has been a run around to get an answer about this and on top of that they only have blank invitations. The themed ones won't be in for a week or two weeks and in that time frame my daughter and her class will be out for Winter Break. Her birthday is the 28TH of December so it is already hard enough to get a party together around this time. Plus we live in Lakeside but she goes to school in Poway because if I need help, my parents live in Poway. I went in yesterday and apparently only certain people know about the whole birthday party information which is highly unprofessional IMO and I never received a phone call back. I had to call today to be told I can get a pack of blank invitations. Again highly unprofessional to not have the items needed and for not EVERYONE who works there KNOWS about birthday parties so that they can answer questions about it when someone has a question. So now I have to use blank invitations to invite kids to a 5 year olds birthday party not to mention have to drive out of my way to pick them up when I was JUST THERE yesterday. Would have been so much easier if they trained their staff more...
